A longitudinal tear of the peroneal tendon is thought to be the result of repetitive peroneal subluxation. However, this report documents two cases of longitudinal split of the peroneus brevis tendon that had no peroneal tendon subluxation. Primary suture was performed. Subluxation of the peroneal tendons was not identified surgically in either case.

Basic science and clinical models of the vertebral subluxation are reviewed. Neurobiological mechanisms associated with these models are described. Models reviewed include the subluxation complex model, subluxation degeneration, nerve compression, dysafferentation, the neurodystrophic model and segmental facilitation. Clinical models, including the segmental, postural, and tonal approaches are ...

Thirty patients were assessed clinically and radiologically. Of the nine who underwent surgery only one reported satisfaction and fou...

Hip arthrography was performed in 19 patients in the initial stage of Perthes' disease. Sphericity and subluxation were measured and it was found that subluxation was independent of the femoral head deformity. We therefore tried to identify the cause of early subluxation: in seven patients a swollen ligamentum teres was thought to be responsible, and was associated with medial pooling of the co...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Subluxation is a significant problem in poststroke hemiplegia, resulting in pain and loss of function. Current treatments are not proved and not considered effective. It has been demonstrated that cyclical electrical stimulation of the shoulder muscles can reduce existing subluxation. The purpose of this study was to determine whether electrical stimulation could prevent ...

The authors report this case of a 48-year-old male patient sustaining a complete tear of the biceps tendon and associated radial head subluxation. A restriction of supination-pronation of the forearm was noted as a result of the radial head subluxation. The complete tear of the biceps tendon was treated conservatively and the radial head subluxation corrected itself.
