本研究では個室ブースに設置したパーソナル空調システムの精神作業負荷による疲労に対する軽減効果を検討するため，精神的作業負荷中にパーソナル空調システムの使用を認めた場合と不可とした場合によるランダム化クロスオーバー比較試験を実施した．その結果，作業能率評価であるAdvanced Trail Making Testにおいて，パーソナル空調システムの使用を認めた場合は平均反応時間の短縮，エラー数の減少，試行数の増加，課題間の移行時間の短縮がみられた．一方で主観的評価であるVisual Analogue Scaleの疲労感においては変化がみられなかった．疲労は作業能率の低下と定義されていることから，パーソナル空調システムの使用により精神的疲労が軽減されること，および課題間の移行時間は意欲を反映することから，意欲が向上することが確認された．
