The esterification of free fatty acids (FFA) with methanol is studied using Sulfonated Porous Carbon (SPC) as catalyst. In compare to the amorphous sugar catalyst and protonated Nafion, the proposed catalyst shows stability and high efficient performance in biodiesel production. The highest initial rate of oleic acid conversion is obtained at catalyst loading of 1 mmol H+ and mole ra...

Internal crystalline structure of cementite catalyst particles located inside the base of multiwall carbon nanotubes was studied using nanoprobe convergent-beam electron diffraction. The catalyst particles are single crystalline but exhibit combinations of small-angle ( 1 –3 ) rotations, twists, and bends along their axial length between adjacent locations. Distortions are most severe away from...

A combinatorial in situ three-component chiral oxazoline-Schiff base copper(II) complex catalyst formation method was developed. This simple combinatorial chiral catalyst approach provided a modular library of chiral oxazoline-Schiff base copper(II) complex catalysts. The catalytic activity of these in situ generated catalysts can be rapidly and conveniently evaluated in the asymmetric Henry re...

freshly prepared zno nanoparticles were used as an effective heterogeneous base catalyst for the synthesis of aryloximes. the conversion of arylaldehydes and arylketones into the corresponding oximes (up to quantitative yields) was achieved by simply mixing the liquid reactants and hydroxylamine hydrochloride with zno nanoparticles under solvent-free condition. the procedure was carried out und...

Over the past decade, significant advances have been made in the development of molecular water oxidation catalysts (WOCs) in the context of developing a system that would accomplish artificial photosynthesis. Mononuclear ruthenium complexes with polypyridine ligands have drawn considerable attention in this regard, due to their high catalytic activity and relatively simple structure. In this p...

We report herein the use of a dual catalytic system comprising a Lewis base catalyst such as quinuclidin-3-ol or 4-dimethylaminopyridine and a photoredox catalyst to generate carbon radicals from either boronic acids or esters. This system enabled a wide range of alkyl boronic esters and aryl or alkyl boronic acids to react with electron-deficient olefins via radical addition to efficiently for...

Abstract The thermal reactivities of cellulose and hemicellulose are significantly different in cell walls when compared with isolated components differ Japanese cedar (softwood) beech (hardwood). Uronic acid bound to xylan promotes the degradation hemicellulose, its effect is depending on form free (acting as an catalyst) or metal uronate a base catalyst). We evaluated location uronic wall by ...

We report the first catalyst based on palladium for the reaction of CO2, alkene and a base to form sodium acrylate and derivatives. A mechanism similar to a previously reported Ni(0)-catalyst is proposed based on stoichiometric in situ NMR experiments, isolated intermediates and a parent palladalactone. Our palladium catalyst was applied to the coupling of CO2 with conjugated alkenes.

In this research, ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized using a binary Zn(II) Schiff-base complex. The complex heat-treated to prepare ZnO nanoparticles via thermal decomposition route at a temperature of 500 °C. The formation of single-phase ZnO nanoparticles and their microstructures were studied by XRD pattern, SEM and TEM observation. The photo-degradation characteristic of the as-prepar...
