The non-classical KP(6)Mo(18)O(73) heteropolyanion has been studied by the density functional theory (DFT) method, and the calculated geometry compares well with the experimental one. In fully oxidized [KP(6)Mo(18)O(73)](7-) state, the d(xy)-orbitals centered at eight "belt" Mo sites in the lower part of the "basket" are the major contributors to the LUMO and LUMO+1, while the LUMO+2 orbital is...

The prevalence of Klebsiella pneumonia bloodstream infections (KP-BSIs) is increasing worldwide. Few study reports focus on the KP-BSIs published in Mainland China over the previous years. This study aimed to describe the risk factors of mortality from KP-BSIs.A retrospective study was conducted in a teaching hospital in Shanghai, China, for a period of 4 years. Risk factors related to the pati...

Kisspeptin-10 (Kp-10), a decapeptide derived from the primary translation product of KISS1 gene, has been reported previously to be a key hormone for puberty and an inhibitor for tumor metastasis via the activation of G protein-coupled receptor 54. However, whether Kp-10 inhibits angiogenesis, which is critical for tumor growth and metastasis and other human diseases, is still unknown. Here we ...

The kynurenine pathway (KP) and one of its end-products, the excitotoxin quinolinic acid (QUIN), are involved in the pathogenesis of several major neuroinflammatory brain diseases. A relevant animal model to study KP metabolism is now needed to assess whether intervention in this pathway may improve the outcome of such diseases. Humans and macaques share a very similar genetic makeup. In this s...

The kynurenine pathway (KP) is the main catabolic pathway of the essential amino acid tryptophan. The KP has been identified to play a critical role in regulating immune responses in a variety of experimental settings. It is also known to be involved in several neuroinflammatory diseases including Huntington's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and Alzheimer's disease. This review consider...

It is by now well known that the wave functions of rational solutions to the KP hierarchy which can be achieved as limits of the pure n-soliton solutions satisfy an eigenvalue equation for ordinary differential operators in the spectral parameter. This property is known as “bispectrality” and has proved to be both interesting and useful. In this note, it is shown that certain (non-rational) sol...

Given the two boson representation of the conformal algebra Ŵ∞, the second Hamiltonian structure of the KP hierarchy, I construct a bi-Hamiltonian hierarchy for the two associated currents. The KP hierarchy appears as a composite of this new and simpler system. The bi-Hamiltonian structure of the new hierarchy gives naturally all the Hamiltonian structures of the KP system.

INTRODUCTION Joint registries have demonstrated value as a resource for the study of large numbers of patients, providing the opportunity to study rare occurrences and identify early failures of surgical procedures. Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction registries have been established in Norway and the U.S. In this study, we compared the preoperative characteristics of the Norwegian ...
