we employ the hyper central approach to study the masses and magnetic moments of the baryons constituting single charm and beauty quark. The confinement potential is assumed in the hyper central co-ordinates of the coulomb plus power potential form.

We report on a lattice investigation of improved quenched Wilson fermions above and below the confinement-deconfinement phase transition. Results on meson screening masses as well as spatial wave functions are presented. Moreover, the meson dispersion relation is studied. Below the critical temperature we do not observe any significant temperature effect while above Tc the data are consistent w...

We discuss the application of the permutation group SN to a few problems in hadron physics. In Ref. [11] a method was proposed for matching a quark model Hamiltonian onto the effective Hamiltonian of the 1/Nc expansion, which makes use of the transformation properties of the states and operators under SN . This method is used in [13] to obtain information about the spinflavor structure of the q...

A model in which the soft collisions of the nucleon are described in terms of interactions of its two constituents (a quark and a diquark) is proposed. When adjusted to describe precisely the elastic proton-proton scattering data and supplemented with the idea of wounded constituents, the model accounts rather well for the centrality dependence of particle production in the central rapidity reg...

A general formalism, based on factorization theorem and pQCD hard interactions, is developed for the description of single spin effects in hadron-hadron inclusive processes. The transverse momentum, k⊥, of the quarks inside the hadrons and of the hadrons relatively to the fragmenting quark, is taken into account in distribution and fragmentation functions, and leads to possible non zero single ...

We employ the relativistic constituent quark model to give a unified description of the leptonic and semileptonic decays of pseudoscalar mesons (π, K, D, Ds, B, Bs). The calculated leptonic decay constants and form factors are found to be in good agreement with available experimental data and other approaches. We reproduce the results of spin-flavor symmetry in the heavy quark limit.

Heavy quark and direct photon production in hadronic collisions are processes of great interest. The discovery of the top has increased efforts in the calculation of heavy quark production cross sections while direct photon production is important for determinations of gluon distributions. Near threshold for the production of the final state in these processes one can resum logarithmic correcti...

ast week, member states of the World Health Organization (WHO) advanced another step in the nearly 1-year rigorous process of selecting its next director-general. Candidates for the position presented their vision of international health work and the role of this global health body. Having worked at WHO in a number of capacities in the area of infectious diseases, I know well that international...
