Crystal dissolution may include three component processes: interface reaction, diffusion and complications due to convection. We report here a theoretical and experimental study of crystal dissolution in silicate melt without convection. A reaction-diffusion equation is developed and numerically solved. The results show that during non-convective crystal dissolution in silicate melt, the interf...

Motivated by the reservoir engineering concept of the productivity index of a producing oil well in an isolated reservoir, we analyze a time dependent functional, diffusive capacity, on the solutions to initial boundary value problems for a parabolic equation. Sufficient conditions providing for time independent diffusive capacity are given for different boundary conditions. The dependence of t...

There exist some boundary-driven open systems with diffusive dynamics whose particle current fluctuations exhibit universal features that belong to the Edwards-Wilkinson universality class. We achieve this result by establishing a mapping, for the system fluctuations, to an equivalent open yet equilibrium-diffusive system. We discuss the possibility of observing dynamic phase transitions using ...

The effects of an external force on a diffusive process subjected to a backbone structure are investigated by considering the system governed by a Fokker-Planck equation with drift terms. Our results show an anomalous spreading which may present different diffusive regimes connected to anomalous diffusion and stationary states.

The mean-field reaction-diffusion equations of the diffusive pair-annihilation and triplett-annihilation processes are considered. A direct lower bound on the time-dependent mean particle-density is derived. The results are applied to the mean-field theory of the diffusive pair-contact process. -The ratio of the fluxes of heat and salt across a diffusive interface is investigated on the premise that there are two contributions to the flux of each component. These contributions arise from the two transport mechanisms which can operate at a diffusive interface, viz. double-diffusive convection and turbulent entrainment. Estimates of the fluxes are provided for each process, and their co...

Background: Since Positive Parenting Program (Triple-P) is one of the ways to improve parent-child interaction, it seems that conducting a meta-analysis will help determine the actual effect size of Triple-P. The aim of this study was to meta-analyze the effect of level 4 Triple-P on interaction of parent-child with special needs in Iran. Methods: The current study is a meta-analysis. Before t...

The Meissner effect in diffusive normal metal / insulator / d-wave superconductor junctions is studied theoretically in the framework of the Usadel equation under the generalized boundary condition. The effect of midgap Andreev resonant states (MARS) formed at the interface of d-wave superconductor is taken into account. It is shown that the formation of MARS suppresses the susceptibility of th...

We have developed a computational framework for accurate and efficient simulation of stochastic spatially inhomogeneous biochemical systems. The new computational method employs a fractional step hybrid strategy. A novel formulation of the finite state projection (FSP) method, called the diffusive FSP method, is introduced for the efficient and accurate simulation of diffusive transport. Reacti...
