Mechanochemical reactions between KBH4 and KBF4 result in the formation of potassium fluoroborohydrides K(BH(x)F(4-x)) (x = 0-4), as determined by (11)B and (19)F solid state NMR. The materials maintain the cubic KBH4 structure. Thermogravimetric (TG) data for a ball-milled sample with KBH4 : KBF4 = 3 : 1 are consistent with only desorption of hydrogen.

An insulated nanotube wire is formed by the binary phase of layered tungsten disulphide and carbon nanotubes (shown in the HRTEM image) generated by the sulphidization of tungsten oxide coated multiwalled carbon nanotubes at 900 °C. Thermogravimetric analysis shows that the tungsten disulphide coat acts as an antioxidant.

A new coordination polymer of polyoxomolybdate, {[Cu(4)(bbp)(5)Mo(6)O(22)]·(H(2)O)(4)}(∞) (bbp = 1,4-bis(benzoimidazol-1-yl)phenyl), has been synthesized under solvothermal reaction, which represents a double-bridging interpenetrating α-Po network based on the bimetallic cluster {Cu(4)Mo(6)}. The thermogravimetric and electrochemical behaviors have also been studied.
