We investigate the dynamics of the one-dimensional strongly repulsive spin-1/2 Bose-Hubbard model for filling nu <or= 1. While at nu=1 the system is a Hubbard-Mott insulator exhibiting dynamical properties of the Heisenberg ferromagnet, at nu<1 it is a ferromagnetic liquid with complex spin dynamics. We find that close to the insulator-liquid transition the system admits for a complete separati...

We study the controllability of a central spin guided by a classical field and interacting with a spin bath and show that the central spin is fully controllable independently of the number of bath spins. Additionally we find that for unequal system-bath couplings even the bath becomes controllable by acting on the central spin alone. We then analyze numerically how the time to implement gates o...

In the present work, we have obtained the equation of state for neutron star matter considering the in uence of the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic spin state. We have also investigated the structure of neutron stars. According to our results, the spin asymmetry stiens the equation of state and leads to high mass for the neutron star.

We investigate a hybrid quantum system involving spin qubits, based on the spins of electrons confined in quantum dots, and topological qubits, based on Majorana fermions. In such a system, gated control of the charge on the quantum dots allows transfer of quantum information between the spin and topological qubits, and the topological system can be used to facilitate transfer of spin qubits be...

I study the quantum mechanics of a spin interacting with an “apparatus”. Although the evolution of the whole system is unitary, the spin evolution is not. The system is chosen so that the spin exhibits loss of quantum coherence, or “wavefunction collapse”, of the sort usually associated with a quantum measurement. The system is analyzed from the point of view of the spin density matrix (or “Sch...

We recently determined the values of intrinsic spin-orbit (SO) parameters for In0.52Al0.48As/In0.53Ga0.47As(10 nm)/In0.52Al0.48As (InGaAs/InAlAs) quantum wells (QW), lattice-matched to (001) InP, from the weak localization/antilocalization analysis of the low-temperature magneto-conductivity measurements [1]. We have then studied the subband energy spectra for the InGaAs/InAlAs double QW system...

The temperature dependence of magneto current in the spin spin valve transistor system is theoretically explored based on phenomenological model. We find that the collector current strongly depends on the relative orientation of magnetic moment of ferromagnetic metals due to spin mixing effect. For example, the collector current is decreasing in the parallel case with increasing temperature, an...

We show that spin anisotropy can be transferred to an isotropic system by transport of a spin-quadrupole moment. We derive the quadrupole moment current and continuity equation and study a spin-valve structure consisting of two ferromagnets coupled to a quantum dot probing an impurity spin. The quadrupole backaction on their coupled spin results in spin torques and anisotropic spin relaxation w...

We describe a new effect in semiconductor spintronics that leads to dissipationless spin currents in paramagnetic spin-orbit coupled systems. We argue that in a high-mobility two-dimensional electron system with substantial Rashba spin-orbit coupling, a spin current that flows perpendicular to the charge current is intrinsic. In the usual case where both spin-orbit split bands are occupied, the...

We study a system of one-dimensional (iso)spin12 bosons in the regime of strong repulsive interactions. We argue that the low-energy spectrum of the system consists of acoustic density waves and the spin excitations described by an effective ferromagnetic spin chain with a small exchange constant J. We use this description to compute the dynamic spin structure factor and the spectral functions ...
