Collision induced dissociation (CID) of the m/z 479 ion, formed by ESI of Co(NO3)2-CH3OH solutions with either pure (1S,2S)-(+)-N-methylpseudoephedrine or its mixtures with (1S,2R)-(+)- or (1R,2S)-(-)-ephedrine, provides compelling evidence for fast, stereoselective reactions in Co(II)/neurotrasmitter(s) aggregates during solvent evaporation of the ESI droplets.

Solvent evaporation upon drying the precipitate was found to be the key factor for the phase transformation of cubic mesoporous silica SBA-1 to hexagonal SBA-3 studied by in-situ X-ray diffraction and 29Si solid state NMR on the precipitates formed various crystallisation conditions.

In this study, the ion association phenomenon in the saturated solution of KCl in the mixed solvent(methanol+water) was studied. The solubility of this compound in the mixed solvent (methanol+water by value percent of methanol = 60%), and in the presence of various molarities of NaNO3 wasdetermined by the solvent evaporation method at 25.0°C. The results enable us to estimate the valueof thermo...

Objective: The main purpose of this study is to prepare a floating micro articulated drug delivery system of ciprofloxacin by using non-aqueous solvent evaporation technique to increase the bioavailability and therapeutic effectiveness of the drug by prolonging its gastric residence time. Methods: Floating microparticles were prepared by using different low-density polymers such as ethyl cellul...

Triply charged, highly solvated metal ions of the form [Ln(H(2)O)(n)](3+) can be generated using a commercial mass spectrometer, and CID studies on these highly charged metal-solvent clusters allow for the direct observation of a process best described as ion evaporation.

Ubiquitin confined within nanodroplets was irradiated with a variable-power CO2 laser. Mass spectrometry analysis shows evidence for a protein "melting"-like transition within droplets prior to solvent evaporation and ion formation. Ion mobility spectrometry reveals that structures associated with early steps of denaturation are trapped because of short droplet lifetimes.

Dodecyl sulfate and dodecylbenzene sulfonate intercalated alpha-hydroxides of nickel and cobalt were synthesized by ammonia precipitation. These solids delaminate to give a colloidal dispersion of layers in organic solvents such as 1-butanol. The dispersed layers could be reassembled either by evaporation of the colloid or by coagulation by the addition of a polar solvent.

BACKGROUND Reconstruction materials currently used in clinical for osteoarticular tuberculosis (TB) are unsatisfactory due to a variety of reasons. Rifampicin (RFP) is a well-known and highly effective first-line anti-tuberculosis (anti-TB) drug. Poly-DL-lactide (PDLLA) and nano-hydroxyapatite (nHA) are two promising materials that have been used both for orthopedic reconstruction and as carrie...

A comparative study of three commercial dental adhesives was performed by (1)H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and Stray-Field magnetic resonance imaging. Spectroscopic evidence was found for the presence of solvent and unreacted methacrylate groups in photopolymerized adhesives. Spatially resolved photopolymerization kinetics and volumetric contraction (solvent evaporation and polymeri...

The solvent diffusion coefficient D in a solvent-polymer system can be much larger than the ratio a/ , where a is one monomer length (about 0.5 nm) and is the dominant relaxation time measured e.g. by broadband dielectric spectroscopy [1,2]. The discrepancy can be by up to 6 orders of magnitude and more. We propose here that the solvent diffusion is dominated by path in the liquid with fast rel...
