A recently presented method for the study of evolving self-gravitating relativistic spheres is applied to the description of the evolution of relativistic polytropes. Two different definitions of relativistic polytrope, yielding the same Newtonian limit, are considered. Some examples are explicitly worked out, describing collapsing polytropes and bringing out the differences between both types ...
2 to the Lorentz transformations via the law of addition of relativistic velocities. Abstract. In this paper we show how to get the Lorentz transformations from E = mc 2 , the laws of conservation of energy and momentum, and the special relativity principle. To this end we first deduce the law of addition of relativistic velocities. From E = mc 2 to the Lorentz transformations via the law of ad...
A cyclic nature of quantum mechanical clock is discussed as “quantization of time.” Quantum mechanical clock is seen to be equivalent to the relativistic classical clock. John von Neumann proposed a problem [1] in 1932 in the footnote on page 6 of the English translation [2] of his book “Die Mathematische Grundlagen der Quantenmechanik,” Springer-Verlag, Berlin: – in all attempts to develop a g...

The two previous papers developed quantum mechanical formalism from classical mechanics and two additional postulates. In the first paper it was also shown that the uncertainty relations possess no ontological validity and only reflect the formalism's limitations. In this paper, a Realist Interpretation of quantum mechanics based on these results is elaborated and compared to the Copenhagen Int...
In this work, the charm quark mass is obtained from a QCD sum rule analysis of the charmonium system. In our investigation we include results from non-relativistic QCD at next-to-next-to-leading order. Using the pole mass scheme, we obtain a value of Mc = 1.70 ± 0.13 GeV for the charm pole mass. The introduction of a potential-subtracted mass leads to an improved scale dependence. The running M...
This paper is devoted to the derivation of absorbing boundary conditions for the KleinGordon and Dirac equations modeling quantum and relativistic particles subject to classical electromagnetic fields. Microlocal analysis is the main ingredient in the derivation of these boundary conditions, which are obtained in the form of pseudodifferential equations. Basic numerical schemes are derived and ...
Generalized eigenfunctions of the two-dimensional relativistic Schrödinger operator H = √ −∆ + V (x) with |V (x)| ≤ C〈x〉−σ, σ > 3/2, are considered. We compute the integral kernels of the boundary values R± 0 (λ) = ( √ −∆− (λ± i0))−1, and prove that the generalized eigenfunctions φ±(x, k) are bounded on R x × {k | a ≤ |k| ≤ b}, where [a, b] ⊂ (0,∞)\σp(H), and σp(H) is the set of eigenvalues of ...
_ _. We argue that th&crossing (CPT) y s mmetry of relativistic quantum mechanics requires that both the Coulombic and the Newtonian force between pairs of particles will reverse when one is replaced by its anti-particle. For consistency, this requires a theory in which both the equivalence principle and gauge invariance are abandoned. Thus whether ant,i-hydrogen " falls " up or down will provi...
The interaction of a moving charged particle with its coherent electromagnetic field is analysed in the framework of non-relativistic quantum mechanics. It is shown that, when this interaction is taken into account, a spatially localized state may have a mean energy lower than the one corresponding to a delocalized state.
