Synchrotron-based X-ray Tomographic Microscopy is a powerful technique for fast non-destructive, high resolution quantitative volumetric investigations on diverse samples. At the TOMCAT (TOmographic Microscopy and Coherent rAdiology experimenTs) beamline at the Swiss Light Source, synchrotron light is delivered by a 2.9 T superbend. The main optical component, a Double Crystal Multilayer Monoch...
We present a proposal for a X-ray optical element suitable for X-ray microscopy and other X-ray-based display systems. Its principle is based on the Fresnel lenses condition and the Bragg condition for X– ray scattering on a slice of monocrystal. These conditions are fulfilled simultaneously due to a properly machined shape of the monocrystal with a stress at its ends.

We demonstrate sub-100 nm resolution water-window soft X-ray full-field transmission microscopy with a compact system. The microscope operates at lambda = 3.37 nm and is based on a 100 Hz table-top regenerative debris-free droplet-target laser-plasma X-ray source in combination with normal-incidence multilayer condenser optics for sample illumination. High-spatial-resolution imaging is performe...
We demonstrate compact full-field soft X-ray transmission microscopy with sub 60-nm resolution operating at lambda= 2.48 nm. The microscope is based on a 100-Hz regenerative liquid-nitrogen-jet laser-plasma source in combination with a condenser zone plate and a micro-zone plate objective for high-resolution imaging onto a 2048 x 2048 pixel CCD detector. The sample holder is mounted in a helium...
In-line phase contrast enables weakly absorbing specimens to be imaged successfully with x-rays, and greatly enhances the visibility of fine scale structure in more strongly absorbing specimens. This type of phase contrast requires a spatially coherent beam, a condition that can be met by a microfocus x-ray source. We have developed an x-ray microscope, based on such a source, which is capable ...
the magnetite (fe3o4) – agar nanocomposite was prepared by co-precipitation of fe (iii) and fe (ii) ions for the first time. the obtained samples were characterized by x-ray diffraction, fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. ft-ir results confirm the formation of fe3o4 nanoparticles in agar matrix. the xrd results revealed th...
this paper reports the synthesis of polypyrrole coated sno2/znoelectrospunnanofibers via vapor phase polymerization method. in order to prepare one dimensional (sno2-zno)/polypyrrole with the core sheath structure, first sno2-zno composite nanofibers were synthesized via electrospinning method followed by adsorption of fe3+ on the surface of the sno2-zno nanofibers and finally pyrrole was polym...
in this investigation we synthesized nax-nanozeolite by hydrothermal crystallization conditions.these nanoparticles were prepared at different conditions in a temperature controlled shaker. thesynthesized zeolites were characterized by instrumental analysis methods, such as x-raydiffraction (xrd), x-ray fluorescence (xrf), scanning electron microscopy (sem) andtransmission electron microscopy (...
Soft X-ray Tomographic (TomoX) microscopy has become a reality in the last years. The resolution range of this technique nicely fits between confocal and electron microscopies and will play a key role in the elucidation of the organization between the molecular and the organelle levels. In fact, it offers the possibility of imaging three-dimensional structures of hydrated biological specimens n...
