This paper studies the canonical Chow quotient of a smooth projective variety by a reductive algebraic group. The main observation of this paper is that, over the field of complex numbers, the Chow quotient admits symplectic and other topological interpretations, namely, symplectically, the moduli spaces of stable orbits with prescribed momentum charges; and topologically, the moduli space of s...
The main purpose of this paper is to consider the t-best co-approximation and t-best simultaneous co-approximation in fuzzy normed spaces. We develop the theory of t-best co-approximation and t-best simultaneous co-approximation in quotient spaces. This new concept is employed us to improve various characterisations of t-co-proximinal and t-co-Chebyshev sets.
In this paper a new notion of topological spaces namely, I-sequential topological spaces is introduced and investigated. This new space is a strictly weaker notion than the first countable space. Also I-sequential topological space is a quotient of a metric space.
In this paper we present new forms of the classical separation axioms on topological spaces. Our constructions generate a method to refine separation properties when passing to the quotient space and our results may be useful in the study of algebraic topological structures, such as topological groups and topological vector spaces. We study the GIT-quotient of the Cartesian ppower of a projective space modulo the projective orthogonal group. A classical isomorphism of this group with the Inversive group of birational transformations of the projective space of one dimension less allows one to interpret these spaces as configuration spaces of complex or real spheres.
We propose a geometrical interpretation for the discrete torsion appearing in the algebraic formulation of quotients of WZW models by discrete abelian subgroups. Part of the discrete torsion corresponds to the choice of action of the subgroup, yielding different quotient spaces. Another part corresponds to the set of different choices of connection for the H field in each of these spaces. The f...
We show that if a Lie group acts properly on a co-oriented contact manifold preserving the contact structure then the contact quotient is topologically a stratified space (in the sense that a neighborhood of a point in the quotient is a product of a disk with a cone on a stratified space). As a corollary we obtain that symplectic quotients for proper Hamiltonian actions are topologically strati...
