1. iBtoodwtioB. The main objective of the present note is to solve a problem prĉ >osed by Weide (1978) coQceming the complete convergence of c^lain random variables associated with Karp's probabilistic analysis of the traveling salesman problem (Karp (1976), (1977)). To set the problem precisely let A',, 1 < i < oo, be ind^>eiMi(mt random variables uniformly distributed on the unit square [0, i...

In this paper we propose a method to exploit analytical definitions extracted from Spanish corpora, in order to build a lexical network based on the hyponymy/hyperonymy, part/whole and attribution relations. Our method considers the following steps: (a) the recognition and extraction of definitional contexts from specialized documents, (b) the identification of analytical definitions on these d...

In the dual bin packing problem, the objective is to assign items of given size to the largest possible number of bins, subject to the constraint that the total size of the items assigned to any bin is at least equal to 1. We carry out a probabilistic analysis of this problem under the assumption that the items are drawn independently from the uniform distribution on [0,1], and reveal the conne...

This work addresses the growing need of performing meaningful probabilistic analysis of security. We propose a framework that integrates the graphical security modeling technique of attack–defense trees with probabilistic information expressed in terms of Bayesian networks. This allows us to perform probabilistic evaluation of attack– defense scenarios involving dependent actions. To improve th...

This paper presents a probabilistic analysis of an iterative two-way paraxial scheme for the simulation of wave propagation in random media. This scheme has the computational cost of the standard one-way paraxial wave equation but has the accuracy of the full wave equation in a regime beyond the classical paraxial regime. More precisely, it accurately predicts the statistics of the reflected wa...

Security is always the critical challenge for any open area network. VANET is also such type of network in which the criticalities includes because of sensor specific restriction and communication limitations. In this work, the optimized communication is provided by combining the V2V and V2I communication. The proposed model has with inclusive authentication based and preventive approach. The w...

We have developed a new effective probabilistic classifier for document classification by introducing the concept of differential document vectors and DLSI (differential latent semantic indexing) spaces. A combined use of the projections on and the distances to the DLSI spaces introduced from the differential document vectors improves the adaptability of the LSI (latent semantic indexing) metho...

in this paper, we introduce the  probabilistic normed groups. among other results, we investigate the continuityof inner automorphisms of a group and the continuity of left and right shifts in probabilistic group-norm. we also study midconvex functions defined  on probabilistic normed groups and  give  some results about locally boundedness of such  functions.

In this paper, we define the concepts of modified intuitionistic probabilistic metric spaces, the property (E.A.) and  the common property (E.A.) in   modified  intuitionistic probabilistic metric spaces. Then, by the commonproperty (E.A.), we prove some common fixed point theorems in modified intuitionistic Menger probabilistic metric spaces satisfying an implicit relation.
