We show that the tilted perfect fluid Bianchi VI0 family of self-similar models found by Rosquist and Jantzen [K. Rosquist and R. T. Jantzen, Exact power law solutions of the Einstein equations, 1985 Phys. Lett. 107A 29-32] is the most general class of tilted self-similar models but the state parameter γ lies in the interval (

We investigate cosmological models with a free scalar field and a viscous fluid. We find exact solutions for a linear and nonlinear viscosity pressure. Both yield singular and bouncing solutions. In the first regime, a de Sitter stage is asymptotically stable, while in the second case we find power-law evolutions for vanishing cosmological constant. PACS 04.20 Jb, 04.40 Nr, 98.80 Hw

The Einstein–Klein–Gordon field equations are solved in a inhomogeneous shear–free universe containing a material fluid, a self–interacting scalar field, a variable cosmological term, and a heat flux. A quintessence– dominated scenario arises with a power–law accelerated expansion compatible with the currently observed homogeneous universe.

This article introduces a new tri-parameter law of corresponding states from the known regularities, namely the LIR and Zeno line for dense fluids (when Tz=Tc). Two of these parameters are the Zeno line parameters and the third parameter (the fluid parameter), has been obtained from the LIR, this parameter is solely dependent upon the fluid characteristics. The third parameter ca...

the value of the permeability in fluid flow through porous media is important for process investigation. in low reynolds number, the classic darcy’s law is suitable for simulation of fluid flow. in this paper, an experimental study for evaluation of preformed fiber permeability has been done. also, the deviations from the classical darcy law by experimental and numerical simulation of the navie...

We redraw, using state-of-the-art methods for free-energy calculations, the phase diagrams of two reference models for the liquid state: the Gaussian and inverse-power-law repulsive potentials. Notwithstanding the different behaviors of the two potentials for vanishing interparticle distances, their thermodynamic properties are similar in a range of densities and temperatures, being ruled by th...

We study the evolution of the ultra-relativistic shock wave in a plane-parallel atmosphere adjacent to a vacuum and the subsequent breakout phenomenon. When the density distribution has a power law with the distance from the surface, there is a self-similar motion of the fluid before and after the shock emergence. The time evolution of the Lorentz factor of the shock front is assumed to follow ...

We report experiments on gravity-capillary wave turbulence on the surface of a fluid. The wave amplitudes are measured simultaneously in time and space by using an optical method. The full space-time power spectrum shows that the wave energy is localized on several branches in the wave-vector-frequency space. The number of branches depends on the power injected within the waves. The measurement...

The asymptotic properties of self-similar spherically symmetric perfect fluid solutions with equation of state p = αμ (−1 < α < 1) are described. We prove that for large and small values of the similarity variable, z = r/t, all such solutions must have an asymptotic power-law form. They are associated either with an exact power-law solution, in which case the α > 0 ones are asymptotically Fried...
