Shinella sp. strain DD12, a novel phosphite assimilating bacterium, has been isolated from homogenized guts of 4 days starved zooplankton Daphnia magna. Here we report the draft genome of this bacterium, which comprises 7,677,812 bp and 7505 predicted protein-coding genes.

4-Substituted 1-bromoisoquinolin-3-amines were subjected to Suzuki coupling with o-nitrophenylboronic acid to yield 1-(2-nitrophenyl)isoquinolinamines, which participated in Cadogan cyclization with triethyl phosphite under microwave irradiation and pressure to yield fluorescent indazolo[3,2-a]isoquinolin-6-amines. The new compounds were also functionalized by transformation of the amino group.

Dielectric relaxation measurements on supercooled triphenyl phosphite show that time-temperature superposition (TTS) is obeyed for the primary relaxation process at low temperatures. Measurements on other molecular liquids close to the calorimetric glass transition indicate that TTS is linked to an omega(-1/2) high-frequency decay of the loss, while the loss peak width is nonuniversal.

Short phosphorothioate oligonucleotides have been prepared by refluxing an equimolar mixture of thymidine and triethylammonium phosphite in toluene in the presence of elemental sulfur.
