Printed antennas exemplified by the microstrip patch antenna offer an attractive solution to compact, conformal and low cost design of modem wireless communications equipment, RF sensors and radar systems. Recent applications have pushed the frequency well into the ram-wave region even in the commercial arena as evidenced by the worldwide race to develop advanced collision warning radar systems...
The use of radio frequency identification (RFID) system has increased noticeably in recent years. The tag antenna has been particularly influential in the performance of RFID system. Many applications require tag antennas to be of low profile mounted on electrically metallic objects. Several designs have been developed for RFID patch-type antennas or planar inverted-F antennas (PIFAs) mountable...
Here we present a comparison analysis on the single loop resonator (SLR) inspired triple-band monopole antennas. Two configurations with rectangular and circular shaped radiation patches are presented. Simultaneously, two feed techniques with coplanar waveguide and microstrip feeds are performed to drive the antennas. And the conventional planar monopole antennas without the SLRs are also analy...
We designed and fabricated an electrically small antenna (ESA) with coplanar waveguide (CPW) matching circuit. Matching circuit is realized by using interdigital gap and transmission line. We designed ESA with the aid of the commercial three-dimensional electro magnetic field simulator. We also made experiments on the ESA with CPW matching circuits using patterned circuit board.
Two improved circularly polarized microstrip planar antennas operating in 5 GHz–6 GHz are proposed in this paper. The Swastika slot and a circular feeding line are introduced into Ant.2 which exhibits wide impedance bandwidth and AR bandwidth during simulation and measurement than a basic truncated edge CP microstrip antenna. In further studies, a center circular slot is introduced into Ant.3, ...
Waveguide slot arrays are an attractive but expensive choice in a wide range of microwave and millimeter-wave applications when high gain and efficiency are critical. Resonant longitudinal slot arrays offer very high aperture efficiency, low side-lobe levels, and low cross polarization, however, they usually suffer from narrow bandwidth and high cost due to high precision required in manufactur...
The development of science and technologies microwave frequencies (UHF) has contributed to the fact that use ultrawideband (UWB) pulsed signals emerged as a separate scientific technical area radiophysics, requiring deeper study methods formation, emission, reception processing such signals. Aperture radiators are mainly used transmit UWB This type emitters is variety modifications mirror anten...
We are developing integrated and receivers antennas for terahertz applications. As the remote-sensing/radio-astronomical frequencies are pushed higher into the millimeter and submillimeterwave regions, integrated antennas and receivers become competitive with standard waveguide receivers. The integrated receivers consist of an antenna integrated directly with a matching network/mixer. Integrate...
The design of a novel volcano smoke antenna for UWB indoor applications is presented. The design method is based on a general description for the geometry of UWB monopole antennas which is capable of producing most possible shapes for these antennas. It is also compatible with different optimization methods. In addition to a volcano smoke antenna, this method is used to design two optimized mon...
