We have detected pulsed emission from the Vela pulsar at 2 30 keV during a 93 ks observation with the Rossi X-Ray Timing Explorer (RXTE). The RXTE pulse profile shows two peaks, that are roughly in phase with the EGRET peaks, but does not show any significant interpeak emission. The phase of Peak 2 is energy dependent, moving to higher phase with increasing energy in the RXTE band, in phase ali...

Retrieval of the phase of a signal is one of the major problems in signal processing. For an exact signal reconstruction, both magnitude, and phase spectrum of the signal is required. In many speech-based applications, only the magnitude spectrum is processed and the phase is ignored, which leads to degradation in the performance. Here, we propose a novel technique that enables the reconstructi...

Incorporating information from the short-time phase spectrum into a feature set for automatic speech recognition (ASR) may possibly serve to improve recognition accuracy. Currently, however, it is common practice to discard this information in favour of features that are derived purely from the short-time magnitude spectrum. There are two reasons for this: (1) the results of some well-known hum...

We consider the mass spectrum of the 3d 3-state Potts model in the broken phase (a) near the second order Ising critical point in the temperature magnetic field plane and (b) near the weakly first order transition point at zero magnetic field. In the case (a), we compare the mass spectrum with the prediction from universality of mass ratios in the 3d Ising class; in the case (b), we determine a...

Estimate of sediment load is required in a wide spectrum of water resources engineering problems. The nonlinear nature of suspended sediment load series necessitates the utilization of nonlinear methods to simulate the suspended sediment load. In this study Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) are employed to estimate daily suspended sediment load. Two different ANN algorithms, Multi Layer Perce...

We report on our analysis of a 274 ks observation of the Vela pulsar with the Rossi X-Ray Timing Explorer (RXTE). The double-peaked, pulsed emission at 2 30 keV, which we had previously detected during a 93 ks observation, is confirmed with much improved statistics. There is now clear evidence, both in the spectrum and the light curve, that the emission in the RXTE band is a blend of two separa...

Entanglement spectrum and quantum phase transitions (QPTs) in S = 1 bond-alternative antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain with single-ion anisotropy and magnetic field are investigated by the infinite time-evolving block decimation (iTEBD) method. The combined effects of the single-ion anisotropy and magnetic field have been discussed, and a rich ground-state phase diagram is obtained. We find th...

The phase-noise spectrum determines the Allan variance by a well-known integral formula. It is shown here that unique inversion of this formula is not possible in general because the mapping from spectrum to Allan variance is not one-to-one. A necessary and sufficient condition for two distinct phase spectra to have the same Allan variance is given.

In this paper, according to the  density functional theory and semiharmonic approximation and solving kohen's equations using plane wave, band structure, phonon scattering; Dielectric tensor, Bourne effective charge, Raman cross-section; We calculated the infrared and specific heat capacity of indium phosphide in two-phase structures on zincblend (ZB) and salt rock (Rs). The results show that t...
