The need of taxonomy is vital for knowledge sharing. This need has been portrayed by through-life engineering services/systems. This paper addresses this issue by repair process taxonomy development. Framework for repair process taxonomy was developed followed by its implementation. The importance of repair process taxonomy has been highlighted.

control of sedimentation in dam reservoirs is considered to be one of the most important issues in exploitation of dams and increasing the their useful life. reservoirs act as traps for sediments and prevent transport of sediment to the river. the deposited sediment decreases the capacity of reservoirs so that they can not be in use any more. various methods dealing with removing part of the de...

Taxonomic data for 135 cultures of bacteria isolated from frozen snap beans and whole kernel corn were analyzed by computer. Of the isolates, 79% were grouped into five major clusters. Two of the groups consisted of leuconostocs, whereas the other three contained homofermentative types. The intergroup similarities suggested a generic level of similarity. Feature frequencies for the groups were ...

Failures are inevitable in wireless sensor networks due to the fragile features and unattended deployment. To explore an effectual technique for node’s fault detection caused by energy consumption, a new algorithm, Fault Detection Technique based on Numerical Taxonomy (FDNT) is proposed in this paper. The algorithm is deployed on the sink node with unconstrained energy consumption and is on the...

Frameworks for organizing literature and ideas in visualization are valuable since they allow us to gain a higherlevel understanding of the state of visualization research. Current taxonomies of visualization techniques are problematic because the terminology is vague. We present a new taxonomy based on models of a data set rather than attributes of the data itself. This method addresses severa...

This paper presents empirical studies of applying numerical taxonomy to component clustering and software partitioning. The technique is based on cohesion and coupling information of a software system as these two properties have great impact on other software quality attributes such as maintainability, portability, scalability and reusability. The technique has been successfully applied to sev...

Phenetic data on over 60 heterotrophic, Gram-negative, yellow chromogenic bacteria from plant material were collected and analysed using numerical taxonomic methods. Marker strains representing 42 taxa were included in the analyses. At similarity levels of 80% or above, eight distinct clusters were obtained, the first four of which included yellow chromogens. Custer I contained isolates from gr...

This volume contains papers presented at a conference held at the Jackson Laboratory in 1976 under the auspices of the National Foundation. The papers deal with several extremely interesting observations and ideas that support the notion that senescence is genetically controlled. Even if the reader has not been previously acquainted with the literature on aging, this book will provide a readabl...
