The segmented trunk peripheral nervous system is generated by ventrally migrating neural crest cells that exclusively invade the anterior sclerotome and differentiate into metameric dorsal root and sympathetic ganglia. Meanwhile, ventral spinal motor axons also project through the somites in a segmental fashion. How peripheral nervous system segmentation is generated is unknown. We previously s...

We recently reported that neuropilin 1 (NRP1) drives angiogenesis by promoting extracellular matrix signaling in endothelial cells via ABL1 kinase. Imatinib targets this pathway in pathological angiogenesis and may provide a novel opportunity for anti-angiogenic therapy of age-related macular degeneration, proliferative diabetic retinopathy, or solid tumor growth.

Abstract Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are associated with high rates of toxic side effects known as immune related adverse events such inflammatory arthritis (ir-RA). ir-RA is empirically treated drugs for rheumatoid methotrexate (MTX) and hydroxychloroquine which was recently shown to reduce the anti-tumor benefit ICIs in mouse models cancer. We have set out determine safety MTX use com...

PURPOSE MNRP1685A is a monoclonal antibody to neuropilin-1 (NRP1). We evaluated blood-based pharmacodynamic biomarkers of MNRP1685A in two phase I studies to assess exposure/response relationships to inform target dose and regimen selection. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN The phase I studies evaluated escalating doses of MNRP1685A as a single agent or in combination with bevacizumab. Plasma placental gr...

BACKGROUND While vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression in breast tumors has been correlated with a poor outcome in the pathogenesis of breast cancer, the expression, localization, and function of VEGF receptors VEGFR1 (also known as FLT1) and VEGFR2 (also known as KDR or FLK1), as well as neuropilin 1 (NRP1), in breast cancer are controversial. METHODS AND FINDINGS We investiga...
