Machine perception can benefit from the use of features extracted from data provided by a variety of sensor modalities. Recent advances in sensor design makes it possible to incorporate multiple sensors into vision systems for increased capability. Two important issues must be considered for the integration task: The sensors must be spatially coregistered and the phenomenologies must be compati...

In this paper we propose a framework for multisensor intrusion detection called Fuzzy Agent-Based Intrusion Detection System. A unique feature of this model is that the agent uses data from multiple sensors and the fuzzy logic to process log files. Use of this feature reduces the overhead in a distributed intrusion detection system. We have developed an agent communication architecture that pro...

Multisensor integration systems are used to fulfill the increasing requirements on the complexity andaccuracy of coordinate metrology. This thesis investigates on the achievement of multisensor integration incoordinate metrology from two main parts: function and data modeling; and discrete geometry processing.Function and data modeling allow obtaining clear understanding of the syst...

A new iterative approach of multisensor data fusion based on the Dempster-Shafer formalism is presented. Mass functions, formalized by a Gaussian model, are estimated at each iteration using the output fused image and the source images. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated on synthetic images.

The Video Surveillance and Monitoring (VSAM) team at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) has developed an end-to-end, multicamera surveillance system that allows a single human operator to monitor activities in a cluttered environment using a distributed network of active video sensors. Video understanding algorithms have been developed to automatically detect people and vehicles, seamlessly track...

Non-simulation techniques for comparison of multisensor probabilistic data association lters are developed and are used to compare tracking performance of sequential and parallel implementations of the algorithm. The non-simulation techniques are shown to accurately predict the average superior performance of the sequential implementation in terms of RMS position error and track lifetime which ...

The thin films on the basis of metal oxides of SnO2-ZnO-SiO2 were prepared by sol-gel techniques, and CVD. During the experiment optical and morphological characteristics of materials were investigated. According to the study we can say that this system is promising for use in transparent multisensor devices.

This paper proposes a novel architecture for multisensor data fusion in the context of Ambient Intelligence (AmI). The proposed system integrates an heterogeneous network of sensors with CCD cameras and computational units working together in a LAN. Activities of humans interacting in the monitored area are detected and classified by combining sensors data output with a neural method.

The assessment of physical activity in healthy populations and in those with chronic diseases is challenging. The aim of this systematic review was to identify whether available activity monitors (AM) have been appropriately validated for use in assessing physical activity in these groups. Following a systematic literature search we found 134 papers meeting the inclusion criteria; 40 conducted ...
