limit to the tension reinforcement ratio in flexural high strength reinforced concrete (hsrc) members isbased on the requirement that tension failure as sufficient rotation capacity are ensured at ultimate limit state.however, the provisions for the total amount of longitudinal reinforcement ratio ( and ) are not associated withany rational derivation. in this paper, a quantitative measure to e...

conclusions according to the results of this study, it seems that shift work can be considered a risk factor for high blood pressure changes. it is recommended that workers who are working in shifts are more at risk and need more supervision. background several factors affect the emergence of high blood pressure, among which include environmental and occupational factors. shift work is currentl...

The present longitudinal study was intended to investigate whether the two bilingual experiences of written translation and consecutive interpreting (featured with similar language switching experience but different processing demands) would produce different cognitive control effects in young adults. Three groups of Chinese-English young adult bilinguals, who differed mainly in their half-year...

The existence of long-lived nuclear spin states in four-spin systems is explored by solution-state NMR experiments. Long-lived states are proved to exist in three different natural product molecules, each containing either a AA'BB' or a AA'XX' proton spin system. The measured state lifetimes are between four and eight times the spin-lattice relaxation time constants.

his study explores the option of integrating a low-floor extension (LFE) module into the existing light rail vehicle to augment current service with low-floor boarding and simultaneously to increase passenger capacity. In an effort to minimize the overall weight of the LFE, this study examines two feasible approaches for specifying the longitudinal strength of the LFE that are consistent with c...

Plates made of laminated composite materials with variable stiffness can have wide applications in various branches of engineering due to such advantages as high strength /stiffness to weight ratio. In these composites, curved fibers are used to reinforce each lamina instead of the straight fibers. In this paper, the application of finite strip method for the buckling analysis of moderately thi...

The standard Pirogov–Sinai theory is generalized to the class of models with two modes of interaction: longitudinal and transversal. Under rather general assumptions about the longitudinal interaction and for one specific form of the transversal interaction it is proved that such system has a variety of phase transitions at any temperature: the parameter which plays the role of inverse temperat...

Cervical spinal synovial and/or ganglion cysts can occur at various periarticular sites and should be considered in the differential diagnosis of intraspinal-extradural or paraspinal masses of the cervical spine. The first report of a ganglion cyst of the cervical anterior longitudinal ligament presenting as a retropharyngeal mass, is presented. The histopathology, etiology, and clinical aspect...

We have performed SQUID-NMR measurements on rhodium nuclei at ultralow temperatures. With initial polarizations of up to p = 0.95, the susceptibility data showed clear indications of an antiferromagnetic tendency, but nevertheless no signs of nuclear magnetic ordering. The lowest actually measured nuclear temperature was 280 pK, whereas the lowest nuclear temperatures achieved were below 100 pK...
