An old question of T. Jech and K. Prikry asks if an existence of a precipitous ideal implies necessary existence of a normal precipitous ideal. The aim of the paper is to prove some results in the positive direction. Thus, it is shown that under some mild assumptions, an existence of a precipitous ideal over א1 implies an existence of a normal precipitous ideal over א1 once a Cohen subset is ad...
Let g be a finite dimensional, complex, reductive Lie algebra. One says that a symmetric, g-invariant, R(resp. C)-bilinear form on g is a Manin form if and only if its signature is (dimCg, dimCg) (resp. is non degenerate). Recall that a Manin-triple in g is a triple (B, i, i), where B is a real (resp. complex) Manin form and where i, i are real (resp. complex) Lie subalgebras of g, isotropic fo...
the rings considered in this article are commutative with identity $1neq 0$. by a proper ideal of a ring $r$, we mean an ideal $i$ of $r$ such that $ineq r$. we say that a proper ideal $i$ of a ring $r$ is a maximal non-prime ideal if $i$ is not a prime ideal of $r$ but any proper ideal $a$ of $r$ with $ isubseteq a$ and $ineq a$ is a prime ideal. that is, among all the proper ideals of $r$,...
We study almost inner derivations of 2-step nilpotent Lie algebras genus 2, i.e., having a 2-dimensional commutator ideal, using matrix pencils. In particular we determine all such in terms minimal indices and elementary divisors over an arbitrary algebraically closed field characteristic not 2 the real numbers.
Models of all the gradings on the exceptional simple Lie algebras induced by Jordan subgroups of their groups of automorphisms are provided.
We establish some results about large restricted Lie algebras similar to those known in the Group Theory. As an application, we use this group-theoretic approach to produce some examples of restricted as well as ordinary Lie algebras which can serve as counterexamples for various Burnside type questions.
This paper studies the relationship between representations of a Lie group and representations of its Lie algebra. We will make the correspondence in two steps: First we shall prove that a given representation of a Lie group will provide us with a corresponding representation of its Lie algebra. Second, we shall go backwards and see whether a given representation of a Lie algebra will have a co...
The concept of (α, β)-fuzzy Lie algebras over an (α, β)-fuzzy field is introduced. We provide characterizations of an (∈,∈ ∨q)-fuzzy Lie algebra over an (∈,∈ ∨q)-fuzzy field. 2000 MSC: 17B99, 08A72
