Ever since Gallium Nitride based high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) operation was demonstrated (Khan, 1993), there is a tremendous interest in the design and growth of GaN based transistors for high power device applications. The nitride semiconductors have wide application in the fields of high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs), light emitting diodes, and various high power electroni...

For a two-sided multipartner matching model where agents are given by path-independent choice functions and no quota restrictions, Blair [7] had shown that stable matchings always exist and form a lattice. However, the lattice operations were not simple and not distributive. Recently Alkan [3] showed that if one introduces quotas together with a monotonicity condition then the set of stable mat...

In this paper we review the asymptotic matching conjectures for rregular bipartite graphs, and their connections in estimating the monomerdimer entropies in d-dimensional integer lattice and Bethe lattices. We prove new rigorous upper and lower bounds for the monomer-dimer entropies, which support these conjectures. We describe a general construction of infinite families of r-regular tori graph...

We propose a novel approach of integrating template matching with statistical modeling to improve continuous speech recognition. We use multiple Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) indices to represent each frame of speech templates, use hierarchical agglomerative clustering to generate template representatives, and use log likelihood ratio as the local distance measure for DTW template matching in la...

We discuss a number of old and new methods for computing K → ππ amplitudes on the lattice. They all involve a non-perturbative determination of matching coefficients. We show how problems related to operator mixing can be greatly reduced by using point-split hadronic currents.

We give an introduction to the special problems encountered in a treatment of HQET beyond perturbation theory in the gauge coupling constant. In particular, we report on a recent test of HQET as an effective theory for QCD and discuss how HQET can be implemented on the lattice including the non-perturbative matching of the effective theory to QCD.

A method for increasing the coupling efficiency between ridge optical waveguides and PhCCRWs is described. This increase is achieved via W1 channel waveguide sections, formed within a two-dimensional triangular lattice photonic crystal using mode-matching. The mode-matching is achieved by low quality-factor modified cavities added to both the input and output ports of the PhCCRW. A three dimens...

We discuss the spectrum of open string and point particle excitations in QCD with various source representations. Some general relations are introduced and lattice results presented. In particular we discuss the shortdistance behaviour, relate this to perturbation theory expectations and comment on the matching between low energy matrix elements and high energy Wilson coefficients, within the f...

A toroidal polyhex (resp. Klein-bottle polyhex) described by a string (p, q, t) arises from a p × q-parallelogram of a hexagonal lattice by a usual torus (resp. Klein bottle) boundary identification with a torsion t. A connected graph G admitting a perfect matching is kextendable if |V(G)| ≥ 2k + 2 and any k independent edges can be extended to a perfect matching of G. In this paper, we charact...

Transverse-momentum-dependent parton distribution functions and wave (TMDPDFs/TMDWFs) can be extracted from lattice calculations of appropriate Euclidean matrix elements staple-shaped Wilson line operators. We investigate the mixing pattern such operators under renormalization using symmetry considerations. perform an analysis for with all Dirac structures, which reveals mixings that are not pr...
