Physical and chemical changes can degrade the visual color appearance of old paintings. Five digital color restoration techniques, which can be used to simulate the original appearance of paintings, are presented. This report presents an automatic method for recognition of paintings in a museum. The developed method recognizes the given input picture among 33 classes of paintings and provides the name of the painting as output. The proposed method can be used as an interactive museum guide, which provides more information of the paining to the visitors.
