AIM To describe the pattern of non-intentional farm-related fatalities in Australia for 2003-2006 and examine trends. METHODS Data from the National Coroners Information System were analysed to define all non-intentional farm injury fatalities for the period. RESULTS The incidence of farm fatalities has declined by 44% over the past 20 years from an average of 146 deaths per year to 82 deat...
Requirement engineering is first phase of information system development process. This phase aims to fully observe and define the needs of system and users. In this phase, the defined needs will be formulated into a form that can simplify the analysis process. Requirement engineering approach with intentional perspective is one of argument which is coming to surface in requirement engineering t...
It is a common notion that we understand ourselves better than we understand other people. It is also apparent why we think this is so. After all, we know much more about ourselves than about others, including our memories, our present intentions, and our future goals. And we care more about ourselves than we care about others, so we are more likely to attend to and interpret our own activities...
DiSTiL is a software generator that implements a declarative domain-specific language (DSL) for container data structures. DiSTiL is a representative of a new approach to domain-specific language implementation. Instead of being the usual one-of-a-kind standalone compiler, DiSTiL is an extension library for the Intentional Programming (IP) transformation system (currently under development by M...
Four experiments examined people’s folk-psychological concept of intentional action. The chief question was whether or not evaluative considerations — considerations of good and bad, right and wrong, praise and blame — played any role in that concept. The results indicated that the moral qualities of a behavior strongly influence people’s judgements as to whether or not that behavior should be ...
Software product line engineering optimizes the development of individual systems by leveraging their common characteristics and managing their differences in a systematic way. These differences are called variabilities. We argue that it is difficult for business people to fully benefit of the SPL if it remains at the software level. The paper proposes a move towards a description of software p...
Software engineering is a quest for appropriate modeling and abstraction. Writing programs that simulate parts of the real world requires programmers to fill the conceptual gap between the domain knowledge and computer languages. As a consequence of the conceptual distance between the business domain and the general purpose programming languages, clearly identifiable concepts at the domain leve...
In this paper a computational simulation of the imitation of intentional behaviour is presented. Important assumptions which make the problem computationally tractable are introduced and motivated. It is shown that horizontal, iterated learning, and vertical transmission schemes can be used to learn from imitation using the proposed framework.
This note is based on Gregor Kiczales’ position paper on Aspect-Oriented Programming: “AOP, The Fun has Just Begun”. I am a big fan of AOP. It has working and useful examples, and it brings into focus a key fault of traditional languages and OOP in particular, namely that modularity or refinement by itself can provide for a proper separation of concerns. It can not. Gregor describes the false h...
