We describe an L-band photometric survey of ∼ 0.5 deg2 of the Cha I dark cloud. The survey has a completeness limit of L < 11.0. Our survey detects 124 sources, including all known pre-main sequence stars with L ≤ 11. The fraction of sources with near-IR excess emission is 58% ± 4% for K = 9–11. Cha I sources have bluer H −K and K − L colors than pre-main sequence stars in Taurus-Auriga. These ...

chapters 1 and 2 establish the basic theory of amenability of topological groups and amenability of banach algebras. also we prove that. if g is a topological group, then r (wluc (g)) (resp. r (luc (g))) if and only if there exists a mean m on wluc (g) (resp. luc (g)) such that for every wluc (g) (resp. every luc (g)) and every element d of a dense subset d od g, m (r)m (f) holds. chapter 3 inv...

Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Muhammad (Ahmad) Daylami (391 AH.) is the writer of the first and oldest book in Islamic-Iranian Sufism about Divine love. There seems to be inadequate data about biography of this uncelebrated and theorist Sufi. Through studying his work (‘Atf al- Alf…) and some of his teachers whom he wrote about (e.g. Muhammad ibn Khafif known as Sheykh-i Kabir), it can be deduced that h...

Examples of non-local phonological processes that are bound by prosodic domains are expected in the world’s phonologies. In other words, we should anticipate cases where the metrical foot constrains vowel harmony. Intuitively, it seems like a natural interaction. However, the notion of vowel harmony bound by the metrical foot has only been sparsely proposed in the literature (Abu-Salim 1987, Hu...

The Melkites, Jacobites, and Nestorians were the main Christian communities under Muslim rule. Several pre-Islamic Arab Christian authors wrote treatises concerning their beliefs in Arabic, some of which date back to the early Islamic centuries. The multiplicity of such polemical works suggests an intellectually open society and a degree of tolerance shown by Muslim leaders. Abu Raʾita...

A high degree of diversity noted in the Neolithic mandibles from Abu Hureyra provided the opportunity to address the problem of the meaning and origin of variability in the population. Mandible morphology is approached bearing in mind cranio-facial interactions. Two morphological patterns were identified in the Abu Hureyra mandible sample. e ABU morph represents the majority, while the ABO mor...

In this note we prove, by using straightforward arguments, a stronger version of a well-known capacity result proved by Abu-Mostafa and St. Jacques. Our results states that no Hoppeld memory can have a \capacity" (in Abu-Mostafa and St. Jacques's sense) exceeding 1, thereby showing the inadequacy of their capacity notion.
