The house mouse (Mus musculus) has been spread throughout the world by the actions of humans. It causes severe impacts to native ecosystems, especially in areas where there are no native mammals. It is possible to eradicate mice from islands but they are harder to eradicate than rats. A review of reported eradication attempts found that 17 attempts on 45 islands worldwide failed; a failure rate...

House mice (Mus musculus) pose a threat to the native flora and fauna on islands, and can cause significant damage wherever they have been introduced. Methods used to eradicate invasive rodents, like house mice, at high population densities may not be appropriate for intercepting them at lower densities. A better understanding of the immediate behavior of house mice when first introduced to a n...

The Secret Behind the Door. (Featuring Joan Bennett and Michael Redgrave. 8,865 ft. 99 mins.) Psychiatrists, presumably, are used to strange tales from their patients. Sometimes they may be inclined to think that nothing about human beings will surprise them. There, however, they underestimate the film-writer's imagination, for in The Secret Behind the Door there is portrayed a hero whose parti...

This study examines the entanglement of affects that occurred during a short episode at science museum. The involved small number children and teacher who had come to museum in context school field trip. It took place inside an exhibit called ‘Hmong House’, which reproduced various components traditional house Hmong people. A key aim this paper is trace, via microethnographic analysis brief vid...

Component-based software systems consist of various components, such as third-party components and in-house built components. Due to the component changes, a software system is usually affected at both component level and system level. Related existing research does not address the issue of systematic regression testing of component-based software, especially at system level. This paper propose...

Enterprise application integration (EAI) is cooperation of disparate systems and components to implement business rules in a distributed environment. “Systems and components” can be computer-aided design (CAD) or software engineering (CASE) tools, enterprise databases, COTS applications, or in-house software. Ad hoc software interfacing (AHSI) is a special kind of EAI. A tradeoff analysis class...

Asthma is a heterogeneous disease whose etiology is poorly understood but is likely to involve innate responses to inhaled microbial components that are found in allergens. The influence of these components on pulmonary inflammation has been largely studied in the context of individual agonists, despite knowledge that they can have synergistic effects when used in combination. Here we have expl...

The last decade marked the first real attempt to turn software development into engineering through the concepts of ComponentBased Software Development (CBSD) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components, with the goal of creating high-quality parts that could be joined together to form a functioning system. One of the most critical processes in CBSD is the selection of a set of software comp...

These two subspecies of house mouse were found to differ in their social behaviour, the former being less aggressive than the latter. The paternal effect on aggression (observed repeatedly in laboratory mice) was not found. However, F2 generation mice were less aggressive than those from the F1 generation, and the maternal effect was also significant in a homogenous test set.

For anthropologists and archaeologists, the study of cultural change is greatest challenge. Initially, subject was considered from perspectives that included too few variables, resulting in an approximation proved to be incomplete inadequate. Since end last century, important efforts have been made document a broader context, revealing variability processes involved. These new studies highlight...
