We studied the electroanalytical performances of chemically-modified graphenes (CMGs) containing different defect densities and amounts of oxygen-containing groups, namely graphite oxide (GPO), graphene oxide (GO), thermally reduced graphene oxide (TR-GO) and electrochemically reduced graphene oxide (ER-GO) by comparing the sensitivity, selectivity, linearity and repeatability towards the oxida...

The novel approach for deposition of iron oxide nanoparticles with narrow size distribution supported on different sized graphene oxide was reported. Two different samples with different size distributions of graphene oxide (0.5 to 7 μm and 1 to 3 μm) were selectively prepared, and the influence of the flake size distribution on the mitochondrial activity of L929 with WST1 assay in vitro study ...

A novel strategy to synthesize nitrogen (N) and sulfur (S)-doped graphene (G) is developed through sulfate-reducing bacteria treating graphene oxide (GO). The N, S-doped G demonstrates significantly improved electrocatalytic properties and electrochemical sensing performances in comparison with single-doped graphene due to the synergistic effects of dual dopants on the properties of graphene.

We have developed a graphene oxide (GO)-based nanoplatform simultaneously loaded with a chemical drug and Ag nanoparticles (NPs), and employed it to study the drug release from GO in living cells by surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS). In our strategy, doxorubicin (DOX), a typical model anticancer drug, was loaded onto chemically prepared GO by means of π-π stacking, while the Ag NPs wer...

We present a general study on a high performance supercapacitor based on intercalated reduced graphene oxide with carbon black nanoparticles. Graphene oxide sheets were synthesized by oxidation and exfoliation of natural graphite and were reduced using hydroiodic acid in the presence of carbon black nanoparticles. Graphene paper was fabricated by one-step procedure via simultaneous reducing and...

High-performance, flexible all graphene-based thin film transistor (TFT) was fabricated on plastic substrates using a graphene active layer, graphene oxide (GO) dielectrics, and graphene electrodes. The GO dielectrics exhibit a dielectric constant (3.1 at 77 K), low leakage current (17 mA/cm(2)), breakdown bias (1.5 × 10(6) V/cm), and good mechanical flexibility. Graphene-based TFTs showed a ho...

In this study, we report a novel strategy to prepare graphene nanopapers from direct vacuum filtration. Instead of the conventional method, i.e., thermal annealing nanopapers at extremely high temperatures prepared from graphene oxide (GO) or partially reduced GO, we fabricate our graphene nanopapers directly from suspensions of fully reduced graphene oxide (RGO), obtained after RGO and thermal...

The new carbon age Nanotubes and Graphene a transparent future ahead Graphene is two-dimensional nanomaterial consisting of a single layer of sp 2 network of carbon atoms (Fig. 1a) 1. While the thickness of a graphene sheet is on the order of a single atomic unit, its lateral dimension can approach up to tens of microns. Graphene and its derivatives such as graphene oxide (GO) (Fig. 1b), and re...

The change of distance between individual graphene oxide sheets due to swelling is the key parameter to explain and predict permeation of multilayered graphene oxide (GO) membranes by various solvents and solutions. In situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction study shows that swelling properties of GO membranes are distinctly different compared to precursor graphite oxide powder samples. Intercalatio...
