This paper presents results of speciation analysis of soils coming from Silesia. In examinations a five-step extraction procedure has been applied. Direct analysis of sediments and analysis of extracts was carried out by the X-ray fluorescence spectrometry with wavelength dispersion. Examinations were carried out with the use of soil CRM S-l.
The possible structural and catalytic functions of the nine tryptophan amino acid residues, including Trp(54), Trp(105), Trp(112), Trp(141), Trp(148), Trp(165), Trp(186), Trp(198), and Trp(203) in Fibrobacter succinogenes 1,3-1,4-beta-D-glucanase (Fs beta-glucanase), were characterized using site-directed mutagenesis, initial rate kinetics, fluorescence spectrometry, and structural modeling ana...
The Nanoscopium 155 m-long beamline of Synchrotron Soleil is dedicated to scanning hard X-ray nanoprobe techniques. Nanoscopium aims to reach ≤100 nm resolution in the 5-20 keV energy range for routine user experiments. The beamline design tackles the tight stability requirements of such a scanning nanoprobe by creating an overfilled secondary source, implementing all horizontally reflecting ma...
The concept of “killing two birds with one stone” is illustrated in the image. Clickable lanthanide molecular probes are drawn as arrowheads and imaging methods NIRF SIMS shown eagles, silhouettes which composed elements from near-infrared fluorescence mass spectrometry images, respectively. Dual-modal NIRF-SIMS has been achieved these clickable probes, reported by Yao Zhao, Xing Chen, Jun-Long...
Mass spectrometry, and especially electrospray ionization, is now an efficient tool to study noncovalent interactions between proteins and inhibitors. It is used here to study the interaction of some weak inhibitors with the NCoA-1/STAT6 protein with K(D) values in the microM range. High signal intensities corresponding to some nonspecific electrostatic interactions between NCoA-1 and the oppos...
Native fluorescence, or autofluorescence (AF), consists in the emission of light in the UV-visible, near-IR spectral range when biological substrates are excited with light at suitable wavelength. This is a well-known phenomenon, and the strict relationship of many endogenous fluorophores with morphofunctional properties of the living systems, influencing their AF emission features, offers an e...
The field of proteomics has emerged as a valuable analytical tool for elucidating cellular and biological systems at the molecular level. As there is an ever-growing demand for new highly automated, high-throughput, and sensitive analytical tools, a key challenge is the characterization of lowabundance proteins that are crucial in modulating biological functions of cells and may also be associa...
A new atomizer based on atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma was specially designed for atomic fluorescence spectrometry (AFS) in order to be applied to the measurement of arsenic. The characteristics of the DBD atomizer and the effects of different parameters (power, discharge gas, gas flow rate, and KBH(4) concentration) were discussed in the paper. The DBD atomizer ...
In this research, a simple, sensitive chemiluminescence (CL) method for the determination of humic acid (HA) in water samples was first developed based on the redox reaction between humic acid and cerium(IV) in the acidic condition. Different with the former redox CL reaction which occurred in alkaline solution, no enhancers were needed and neither precipitation nor a second contamination would...
