Thermal treatment of self-assembled FePt nanoparticles reduces the interparticle distances, resulting in dramatic changes in the type and strength of interparticle interactions. Consequently, magnetic properties such as the hysteresis and magnetization reversal mechanisms are strongly affected. It is suggested that controlled annealing of self-assembled nanoparticles may offer a novel approach ...

Terpyridine thiol functionalized FePt and Au NPs were self-assembled and cross-linked at the liquid-liquid interfaces using Fe(II) metal ion. Complexation of terpyridine with Fe(II) metal ion leads to NP network and affords stable membranes and colloidal shells at the liquid-liquid interfaces.

This work illustrates the improvement in ultra-trace Hg(II) determination water based on a novel flexible extraction and preconcentration technique (FEPT). method focuses covalent functionalisation of carbon fibre (CF) (3-mercaptopropyl)trimethoxysilane. The CF is carried out two steps: functionalising surface using acid treatment to obtain hydroxy carboxyl groups surface, followed by condensat...

The structural transfqmation from fcc to fct and relevant magnetic properties of initially multilayered Fe/Pt films were studied. When the asdeposited FePt films were annealed at the temperature of 300°C and up, the fct-phase was formed. Rather square hysteresis loops and large coercivities were measured from the annealed films. The films annealed at 300°C retain a layered structure.

CoPt and FePt nanostructures have been efficiently confined in carbon nanotubes (CNTs). A marked confinement effect has been evidenced, both on bimetallic nano-object shape and composition. In large diameter CNTs small Co- and Fe-rich nanoparticles are formed, while in small diameter CNTs Pt-rich nanowires are selectively produced.
