The investigation of the effect of electromagnetic fields on the process of beta decay was started long ago. In particular, the effect of plane-wave fields on this process was discussed in [1, 2, 3]. The obtained results indicate that beta spectrum is strongly affected by electromagnetic radiation. On the other hand spectral distribution of β-electrons is most sensitive to neutrino mass mν . In...

Members of the MRI community in Europe will be all too aware of the problems posed by the European Union (EU) Physical Agents (Electromagnetic Fields) Directive (2004/ 40/EU) [1,2] and of the long-standing campaign to mitigate its impact on our clinical and research activities [3,4]. These efforts appear to have succeeded at last, and the 2004 legislation has been replaced by a new directive in...

A macroscopic theory for the dynamics of elastic, isotropic matter in presence of electromagnetic fields is proposed here. We avail of Gordon’s general relativistic derivation of Abraham’s electromagnetic energy tensor as starting point. The necessary description of the elastic and of the inertial behaviour of matter is provided through a fourdimensional generalisation of Hooke’s law, made poss...

Hyperbolic materials enable numerous surprising applications that include far-field subwavelength imaging, nanolithography, and emission engineering. The wavevector of a plane wave in these media follows the surface of a hyperboloid in contrast to an ellipsoid for conventional anisotropic dielectric. The consequences of hyperbolic dispersion were first studied in the 50's pertaining to the prob...

This paper details our further experiments pertaining to the influence of low frequency electromagnetic fields (LF EMF) on the growth dynamics of two wild-type Saccharomyces cerevisiae strands. We opted to explore frequencies beyond the usual 50-60 Hz range, motivated by the ion parametric resonance theory and several studies which discovered and recorded endogenous biosignals in various Saccha...

Electric power is an essential commodity of the developed world, and is critical to the continuing progress of our technology-based society, as well as to the growth of less privileged societies. In contrast to its overwhelming benefits, there is a suspicion that the magnetic component of the electromagnetic fields (EMFs) associated with power distribution and electrical appliances has adverse ...

We present new aspects of the electromagnetic field by introducting the natural potentials. These natural potentials are suitable for constructing the first order distortions of the metric tensor of Complex Relativity the theory combining the General Relativity with the electromagnetic equations. A transition from antisymmetric tensors to the symmetric ones helps to define the natural potential...

In this paper an effective numerical method for determining the scattered electromagnetic fields from thin wires is presented and discussed. This problem is modeled by the integral equations of the first kind. The basic mathematical concept is the method of moments. The problem of determining these scattered fields is treated in detail, and illustrative computations are given for several cases.

We continue the study of nonlinear Maxwell equations for electromagnetism in the formalism of B. D. Coleman & E. H. Dill. We exploit here the assumption of Lorentz invariance, following I. Bia linicki-Barula. In particular, we show that nonlinearity forbids the convexity of the electromagnetic energy density. This justifies the study of rank-one convex and of polyconvex densities, begun in [8, ...

800x600 as a tendency to use new technologies, gadgets such as laptop computers are becoming more popular among students, teachers, businessmen and office workers. today laptops are a great tool for education and learning, work and personal multimedia. millions of men, especially those in the reproductive age, are frequently using their laptop computers on the lap (thigh). over the past several...
