Lithodytes lineatus (Schneider, 1799) is a small, litter-dwelling frog widely distributed in the Amazon Ecoregion and some transitional areas between Cerrado. Here we report seven new records of this species zone Amazon, Chiquitano Dry Forest Cerrado ecoregions state Mato Grosso, Brazil. These are southernmost species, expanding its distribution 320 km from nearest record Bolivia.
Ioassessment is used worldwide to monitor aquatic health but is infrequently used with risk-assessment objectives, such as supporting the development of defensible, numerical water-quality criteria. To this end, we present a generalized approach for detecting potential ecological thresholds using assemblage-level attributes and a multimetric index (Index of Biological Integrity-IBI) as endpoint...
We estimate future area burned in the Alaskan and Canadian forest by the mid-century (2046–2065) based on the simulated meteorology from 13 climate models under the A1B scenario. We develop ecoregion-dependent regressions using observed relationships between annual total area burned and a suite of meteorological variables and fire weather indices, and apply these regressions to the simulated me...

The species distribution maps in www.coralsoftheworld.com are based on comprehensive global assessments of the world’s 150 coral ecoregi...
Land use impacts are commonly quantified and compared using 2D maps, limiting the scale of their reported impacts to surface area estimates. Yet, nearly all land use involves disturbances below the land surface. Incorporating this third dimension into our estimates of land use impact is especially important when examining the impacts of mining. Mountaintop mining is the most common form of coal...
Xenodon nattereri (Steindachner, 1869) is a diurnal snake primarily associated with the Cerrado ecoregion in South America, and it considered endemic to Brazil. Here, we report record of this species from Cerro Corá National Park (Amambay, Paraguay), extending geographic range by approximately 30 km southwest.
