The eccrine poroma or Hidracanthoma Simplex is a rare benign adnexal tumor of ephitelial cells, with an incidence of 0.001 to 0.008%1. In two-thirds of the patients it appears on the soles and lateral borders of the feet. We report the case of a patient with pigmented eccrine poroma in abdominal skin, of a rare entity presentation with a single report in the literature in that location.
Preliminary to a study of benign appendageal tumors of the skin, the results of which will be published separately, the following study of normal apocrine and eccrine glands was undertaken. The use of the periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) and Alcian Blue (AB) stains separately on tissue sections and the clarification of the two color reactions of the PAS stain by Alcian Blue (1) has lead to a better h...
Eccrine angiomatous hamartoma (EAH) is a rare, benign cutaneous tumor. It is characterized by the proliferation of the eccrine gland elements that are closely associated with capillary proliferation. Patients usually present with a solitary nodule on the extremities that appeared at birth or during the prepubertal years. We report a rare case of EAH in a 13-year-old boy, with clinical features ...
The successful treatment of the rare malignancy eccrine porocarcinoma (EP) is extremely challenging, often not rewarding and when associated with metastatic disease, therapy results are disappointing. We present a unique case of treatment response of metastatic EP, with a significant disease-free interval. The patient has remained in clinical and radiological remission for 36 months since diagn...
BACKGROUND Hidrocystomas are benign tumors of apocrine or eccrine epithelium. They most commonly occur on the head and neck, especially periorbitally. Albeit rare, these adnexal tumors may present as pigmented lesions. PURPOSE To describe a patient with a pigmented eccrine hidrocystoma of his nose and to review the features of other individuals with pigmented hidrocystoma of the nasal epithel...
Eccrine carcinoma is an extremely rare malignant skin cancer arising from eccrine sweat glands with a high metastatic potential. It mainly occurs in the elderly, with equal incidence in both sexes. It usually spreads to regional lymph nodes, with liver, lungs, and bones being the most common sites of distant metastasis. Because of tumor rarity, little is known about the value of F-18 FDG PET/CT...
The transforming growth factor-beta superfamily is thought to be involved in the regulation and control of growth and differentiation. These growth factors signal through transmembrane serine/threonine kinase receptors. The activation of type I receptor kinase phosphorylates a family of intracellular signalling proteins called Smads. In the present study, we wanted to localize type I and type I...

EP often presents as a reddish nodule with a predilection for the distal extremities. This report describes a lesion with the clinical and dermoscopic findings of a seborrheic keratosis.
