Abstract:Nanostructured titania was synthesized by colloidal and polymeric sol-gel routes. Stable colloidal and polymeric titania sols were prepared by adjusting the proper values of the acid/alkoxide and the water/alkoxide molar ratios. The properties of sols were determined by dynamic light scattering technique and synthesized titania was characterized by thermogravimetry and differential the...
This study demonstrates a new resistive switching material, F-doped TiO2 (F:TiO2), fabricated by atomic layer deposition (ALD) with an in-house fluorine source for random access memory (RRAM) devices. Controlling oxygen vacancies is required since RRAM uses (RS) characteristics redistributing ions in oxide, and poor defect control has been shown to significantly reduce reliability. Therefore, t...
Three kinds of N-doped mesoporous TiO₂ hollow spheres with different N-doping contents, surface area, and pore size distributions were prepared based on a sol-gel synthesis and combined with a calcination process. Melamine formaldehyde (MF) microspheres have been used as sacrificial template and cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) or polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) was selected as pore-directing ...
A microparticle material of gold/polystyrene-coated hollow titania was successfully synthesized. The synthesis steps involved hydrothermal synthesis of a carbon sphere from sucrose as a template, coating of the carbon sphere with titania, removal of the carbon sphere to produce hollow titania, followed by coating of polystyrene on the surface of hollow titania and then attachment of gold nanopa...
We demonstrate a CTAB-templated approach towards direct coating of mesoporous titania on gold nanorods in aqueous solutions. The formation of the mesoporous shell is found to be closely correlated with CTAB concentration and the amount of the titania precursor. This approach can be readily extended to form mesoporous titania shells on other CTAB-capped nanoparticles.
Titania tubes with tunable wall thickness were produced by the sol-gel reaction of titanium(IV) n-butoxide in the presence of rod-shaped calcite particles that act as templates. A shell of amorphous titania was deposited around the calcite particles by sol-gel synthesis. The titania was crystallized to the anatase or rutile phase by sintering at different temperatures, and then acid etching was...
