We present a case of late dislocation of the hip in a 30-month-old girl. Her hip was clinically stable at birth and an ultrasound scan at six weeks was normal. She had no additional risk factors for developmental dysplasia. She underwent anterior open reduction with a femoral osteotomy.

In this study, we aimed to evaluate the long-term clinical and radiological results of single-stage open reduction through a medial approach and Pemberton acetabuloplasty in developmental dysplasia of the hip. We treated 32 hips (22 patients) with developmental dysplasia by a single-stage open reduction through Ferguson's medial approach and Pemberton acetabuloplasty. The procedure was performe...

Aim To establish the positive predictive value (PPV) of clinical hip examinations performed by referrers in Danish screening programme for Developmental Dysplasia Hip (DDH) utilising three definitions true DDH diagnosis. Methods We retrospectively identified 290 children (169 female) referred during a 4-year period to orthopaedic outpatient clinic at our institution with examination. Positive w...

Unfortunately, the success of eradication programs against this disease based on radiographic diagnosis is low. Adding the use of diagnostic genetic tools to the current phenotype-based approach might be beneficial. The aim of this study was to develop a genetic prognostic test for early diagn...
