The ARGO-YBJ experiment at the YangBaJing Cosmic Ray Laboratory (Tibet, P.R. China, 4300 m a.s.l.), will be operating over the next years with the aim of studying cosmic rays, mainly cosmic γ-radiation, with an energy threshold of a few hundreds of GeV, by detecting small size air showers. The ARGO-YBJ apparatus will consist of a full coverage array of dimension ∼ 74× 78 m realized with a singl...

A method of single-shot imaging via aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy equipped with high angle annular dark-field detector (STEM-HAADF) has been applied to size-selected gold model catalysts (Au(25) and Au(39) ) on hydroxyapatite. Through quantitative intensity analysis, the size, in terms of number of atoms as well as 3D shape of the clusters are obtained.

In this present work we report the growth of Cd0.9Zn0.1Te doped with In by a modified THM technique. It has been demonstrated that by controlling the microscopically flat growth interface, the size distribution and concentration can be drastically reduced in the as-grown ingots. This results in as-grown detector-grade CZT by the THM technique. The three-dimensional size distribution and concent...

A blind adaptive multiuser detector (MUD) based on the Linearly Constrained Constant Modulus Algorithm is presented. The dependence of the performance (in terms of BER and SINR) on step size and amplitude estimation is quantitatively investigated through computer simulation.

Slow coincidence circuits for the anti-coincidence measurements have been considered for use in Compton suppression technique. The simplified version of the slow circuit has been found to be fast enough, satisfactory and allows an easy system setup, particularly with the advantage of the automatic threshold setting of the low level discrimination. A well-type NaI detector as the main detector s...

in this paper, the detector of moving target in mimo radar with widely separated antenna in the presence of α-stable clutter is proposed. due to the complexity of unknown parameter estimation in the presence of target, the rao test is applied. the α-stable model is a general model that can applied to different environments with appropriate selection of parameters. the problem with this model is...

Since the development of the CT scanner, the faster scan time was the highest priority to achieve, and therefore, there have been a lot of efforts to reduce the scan time. The first generation CT scanner (Figure 1(a)) uses one pencil beam, and the projection data were acquired by translating the x-ray source and detector linearly. After the completion of the linear measurements, the x-ray sourc...

One important factor in using an High Purity Germanium (HPGe) detector is its efficiency that highly depends on the geometry and absorption factors, so that when the configuration of source-detector geometry is changed, the detector efficiency must be re-measured. The best way of determining the efficiency of a detector is measuring the efficiency of standard sources. But considering the fact t...
