We provide a mathematical formulation of flight-specific delay cost functions that enables detailed tactical consideration how given flight will interact with all downstream constraints in the respective aircraft rotation. These are reformulated into stochastic to respect conditional probabilities and increasing uncertainty related more distant operational constraints. Conditional learned from ...

We present a simple electronic circuit which provides negative group delays for band-limited, base-band pulses. It is shown that large time advancement comparable to the pulse width can be achieved with appropriate cascading of negative-delay circuits but eventually the out-of-band gain limits the number of cascading. The relations to superluminality and causality are also discussed.

Background Aortic pulse wave velocity (PWV) is considered as the “gold standard” measurement of arterial stiffness and is commonly calculated as the ratio between the distance separating two locations along the artery and the transit time (Δt) needed for the pressure or velocity wave to cover this distance. PWV is increasingly assessed by means of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). Our go...

We consider the question of whether there are any fundamental limits to the maximum time delay that can be achieved for a pulse propagating through a slow-light medium. We include in our analysis what we consider to be the dominant competing effects, and we show that in principle they do not lead to a limitation on the maximum achievable time delay. From this result we conclude that, through op...

A novel and effective method based on Haar wavelets and Block Pulse Functions (BPFs) is proposed to solve nonlinear Fredholm integro-differential equations of fractional order. The operational matrix of Haar wavelets via BPFs is derived and together with Haar wavelet operational matrix of fractional integration are used to transform the mentioned equation to a system of algebraic equations. Our...

A novel approach to photonic generation of phase-coded microwave signals based on optical pulse shaping and time delay is proposed. In the proposed approach, an optical short pulse train is inserted with a specified amount of time-delay to certain pulses, and then converted into super-Gaussian microwave pulses based on the optical pulse shaping technique. By properly adjusting the time-delay, p...

In this paper we apply hybrid functions of general block-pulse‎ ‎functions and Legendre polynomials for solving linear and‎ ‎nonlinear multi-order fractional differential equations (FDEs)‎. ‎Our approach is based on incorporating operational matrices of‎ ‎FDEs with hybrid functions that reduces the FDEs problems to‎ ‎the solution of algebraic systems‎. ‎Error estimate that verifies a‎ ‎converge...

the aim of this paper is to present a new numerical method for solving the bagley-torvik equation. this equation has an important role in fractional calculus. the fractional derivatives are described based on the caputo sense. some properties of the sinc functions required for our subsequentdevelopment are given and are utilized to reduce the computation of solution of the bagley-torvik equatio...
