We show that compactly supported wavelets in L (R) of scale N may be effectively parameterized with a finite set of spin vectors in C , and conversely that every set of spin vectors corresponds to a wavelet. The characterization is given in terms of irreducible representations of orthogonality relations defined from multiresolution wavelet filters.

This note describes some cryptographic issues related to multi‐located parties. In general, multi‐located parties make it difficult for the eavesdropper to mount the man‐in‐the‐ middle attack. Conversely, they make it easier to address problems such as joint encryption and error correction coding. It is easier to implement the three‐stage quantum cryptography protocol.

Allocation rules for cooperative games can be manipulated by coalitions merging into single players, or, conversely, players splitting into a number of smaller units. This paper collects some (im)possibility results on mergingand splitting-proofness of (core) allocation rules for cooperative games with side-payments. JEL classification: C71, D23, D71.

The mechanochromic compound 1 forms green-emitting crystals (1g) and blue-emitting crystals (1b) that exhibit two intriguing responses to mechanical stimulation. Upon mechanical stimulation, the emission color of 1g does not change but its crystalline structure does. Conversely, 1b shows a clear emission shift, but it retains its molecular arrangement upon grinding.

Serum levels of keratan sulphate (KS) were found to be significantly elevated in patients with destructive and predominantly seronegative rheumatoid arthritis (RA) compared with a control population. In this presentation, we will look at whether Semantic Web technologies have fulfilled their promise in improving the online networking experience, and conversely, the extent to which online networking helped improve the Semantic Web itself.

Using a continuum model, we obtain qualitative results that imply charge localization around negative curvature disclinations (i.e. rings with more than 6 Carbon atoms) in a graphite sheet. Conversely, it is found that positive curvature disclinations repel charge, independent of its sign.
