The relationship between xed point theory and K {theory is explained, both classical Nielsen theory (versus K 0) and 1{parameter xed point theory (versus K 1). In particular, various zeta functions associated with suspension ows are shown to come in a natural way as \traces" of \torsions" of Whitehead and Reidemeister type.

The main purpose of this paper is to obtain sufficient conditions for existence of points of coincidence and common fixed points for three self mappings in $b$-metric spaces. Next, we obtain cone $b$-metric version of these results by using a scalarization function. Our results extend and generalize several well known comparable results in the existing literature.

The square root function has a unique positive ¿xed point. This function has the following properties: it is strictly increasing and strictly concave, with sEf ' f, sE@ : @ for @ , and sEK K for K : . It is shown that any function from U to U satisfying these properties has a unique positive ¿xed point.

In this paper we underline the importance of the parametric subregularity property of setvalued mappings, de…ned with respect to …xed sets. We show that this property appears naturally for some very simple mappings which play an important role in the theory of metric regularity. We prove a result concerning the preservation of metric subregularity at generalized compositions. Then we obtain, on...

in this note we point out and rectify some errors in a recently published paper “n. singh, r. jain: coupled fixed point results for weakly related mappings in partially ordered metric spaces, bull. iranian math. soc. 40 (2014), no. 1, 29-40”.

in the present paper‎, ‎we show the existence of a coupled fixed point for a non-decreasing mapping in partially ordered complete metric space using a partial order induced by an appropriate function $phi$‎. ‎we also define the concept of weakly related mappings on an ordered space‎. ‎moreover common coupled fixed points for two and three weakly related mappings are also proved in the same space‎.

Predicting the future is not easy. As young medical graduates in the 1970s we were told not to bother with infectious disease specialties as they had largely been fi xed with vaccines and antibiotics. There was a surplus of doctors, and the Alma Ata Declaration had ushered in a new model of primary health care which was going to solve third world poverty and disease. Things were looking so good...

The nationwide screening service for breast cancer, known as BOB from the initials of the Dutch title (Bevolkingonderzoek op Borstkanker) has been set up by the Dutch government for asymptomatic women between 50 and 75 years of age. The primary test offered is X-ray mammography, aimed at early detection of breast cancer in order to reduce the mortality from this disease. The examinations are pe...

We present global and local algorithms for evaluating minimal xed points of dependency graphs, a general problem in xed-point computation and model checking. Our algorithms run in linear-time, matching the complexity of the best existing algorithms for similar problems, and are simple to understand. The main novelty of our global algorithm is that it does not use the counter and \reverse list" ...
