In the proposed paper, we report chalcogenide As2Se3 glass Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) for dispersion compensating application and also demonstrate other dispersion properties (negative and zero dispersion) of As2Se3 glass PCF in different wavelength windows with hexagonal arrangement of air holes in the cladding using Improved Fully Vectorial Effective Index Method (IFVEIM).

Hierarchically-assembled binary cadmium chalcogenide (CdX, X = S, Se, Te) oligomers were engineered. CdTe precursor injections into a solution containing seeded nanocrystals provided longer oligomers possessing alternating and phase-separated CdX and CdTe constituents in the same wire, like an alternating copolymer.

The metal mesostructured Pt/Sn/Se chalcogenides with cubic MCM-48 type pore symmetry are found to be surprisingly stable in concentrated oxidizing acids. Their metal chalcogenide framework exhibits high flexibility during reversible proton exchange as it expands and contracts in an apparent breathing-like action.

A kind of molecular metal chalcogenide, (N(2)H(4))(3)(N(2)H(5))(4)Sn(2)Se(6) complex, was synthesized in the hydrazine solution and employed as the precursors for SnSe(2) deposition on TiO(2) nanocrystalline porous films. A power conversion efficiency of 0.12% under AM 1.5, 1 sun was obtained for the SnSe(2) sensitized TiO(2) solar cells.

A simple method to obtain homogeneous sub-monolayer coverage of metal oxide and chalcogenide nanocrystals onto porous oxide supports is described. Quantitative nanoparticle coverage was probed using photonic macroporous oxide supports. Composites of nanocrystals of TiO₂, Fe₃O₄ or CdS dispersed onto macroporous SiO₂ or ZrO₂ all show a predictable linear shift in the photonic stop band position.

We demonstrate highly efficient evanescent coupling between a highly nonlinear chalcogenide glass two dimensional photonic crystal waveguide and a silica fiber nanowire.
