In the present work, the gravitational field of a vacuum less global monopole has been investigated in Brans-Dicke theory under weak field assumption of the field equations. It has been shown that the vacuum less global monopole exerts attractive gravitational effects on a test particle. It is dissimilar to the case studied in general relativity.
We use the technique of conformal transformations to generate self-similar collapse in Brans-Dicke theory. We analyze the solutions concerning the critical behavior found recently by Choptuik. The critical exponent associated to the formation of black hole for near critical evolution is obtained. The role of the coupling parameter is discussed.
Flavor oscillations of neutrinos are analyzed in the framework of Brans–Dicke theory of gravity. We find a shift of quantum mechanical phase of neutrino proportional to GN∆m and depending on the parameter ω. Consequences on atmospheric, solar and astrophysical neutrinos are discussed. In this paper it is shown that in Brans-Dicke (BD) theory, if one considers a non-minimal coupling between the matter and scalar field, it can give rise to a bouncing universe (i.e. an expanding universe preceded by a contracting universe). Two examples of such universes have been considered in a spatially flat FRW universe and their physical properties have been studied.
