This paper proposes a theorem to generate chaotic key stream from topologically conjugated maps of Tent Map. In this theorem, the condition for topological conjugation between Tent Map and a class of chaotic maps is first determined. Then, the chaotic attractor of the maps is divided into 2 unequal subintervals, the chaotic orbit is sampled once in n time iteration, and, finally, the independen...

The use of information-based measures to assess changes in conscious state is an increasingly popular topic. Though recent results have seemed to justify the merits of such methods, little has been done to investigate the applicability of such measures to children. For our work, we used the approximate entropy (ApEn), a measure previously shown to correlate with changes in conscious state when ...

This study investigates the indications of nonlinear dynamic structures in electroencephalogram signals. The iterative amplitude adjusted surrogate data method along with seven nonlinear test statistics namely the third order autocorrelation, asymmetry due to time reversal, delay vector variance method, correlation dimension, largest Lyapunov exponent, nonlinear prediction error and approximate...

We investigate the scaling of entanglement entropy for one spatial XXZ spin chain by using matrix product states to approximate ground states. The entanglement entropy scales logarithmically with a coefficient that is determined by the associated conformal field theory, the quantum phase transitions occurred between Large-D and Halde phase, Halde phase and Neel phase. The scaling relation-ship ...

It is known that gauge fields defined on manifolds with spatial boundaries support states localized at the boundaries. In this paper, we demonstrate how coarse-graining over these states can lead to an entanglement entropy. In particular, we show that the entanglement entropy of the ground state for the quantum Hall effect on a disk exhibits an approximate “area ” law.

Two-dimensional maximum entropy closure and various standard one-dimensional closures in flux-limited neutrino diffusion and two-moment transport are compared against direct numerical solutions of the neutrino Boltzmann equation. The approximate transport based on particular closures of the moment equations is rated by testing so-called weak equivalence of the first three moments of the neutrin...

The von Neumann entropy, named after John von Neumann, is the extension of classical entropy concepts to the field of quantummechanics and, from a numerical perspective, can be computed simply by computing all the eigenvalues of a density matrix, an operation that could be prohibitively expensive for large-scale density matrices. We present and analyze two randomized algorithms to approximate t...

GLOBAL ENTROPY SOLUTIONS IN L∞ TO THE EULER EQUATIONS AND EULER-POISSON EQUATIONS FOR ISOTHERMAL FLUIDS WITH SPHERICAL SYMMETRY ∗ GUI-QIANG CHEN† AND TIAN-HONG LI† Abstract. We prove the existence of global entropy solutions in L∞ to the multidimensional Euler equations and Euler-Poisson equations for compressible isothermal fluids with spherically symmetric initial data that allows vacuum and ...

Heart rate variability (HRV) is a non-invasive measurement based on the intervals between normal heart beats that characterize cardiac autonomic function. Decreased HRV is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular events. Characterizing HRV using only moment statistics fails to capture abnormalities in regulatory function that are important aspects of disease risk. Thus, entropy measures...

ABSTARCT:This paper examines the steady state behavior of unreliable server in a batch arrival queue with two phases of heterogeneous service along with Bernoulli schedule and N-policy. The server provides two kinds of services in succession, the first stage service (FSS) followed by second stage service (SSS). As soon as both services are completed, the server may take a vacation or may contin...
