Norms are an important part of human social systems, governing many aspects of group decision-making. Yet many popularly used social models neglect to model normative effects on human behavior, relying on simple probabilistic and majority voting models of influence diffusion. Within the multi-agent research community, the study of norm emergence, compliance, and adoption has resulted in new arc...

How does someone react when he faces a critical situation in his life? In this paper we present an initial initial implementation architecture based on a simulation model described in [10] In our model we mainly consider the interactions between a person concerned and factors like his environment and his own abilities. Using the empolis information access suite, we currently implement our model...

Interpersonal or multiagent coordination is a common part of everyday human activity. Identifying the dynamic processes that shape and constrain the complex, time-evolving patterns of multiagent behavioral coordination often requires the development of dynamical models to test hypotheses and motivate future research questions. Here we review a task dynamic framework for modeling multiagent beha...

The paper proposes a multi-agent method to creating an intelligent adaptive system of train real time scheduling with conflict limitations. The architecture of the multi-agent system consisting of two base planning subsystems is described. Subsystem interaction protocols and protocols of agent interaction within each subsystem are presented. The example of schedule planning in various situation...

A formally specified multi-agent-based model for medicine usage management is presented and formally analysed. The model incorporates an intelligent ambient agent model that has an explicit representation of a dynamic system model to estimate the drug concentration in the patient’s body by simulation, and is able to analyse whether the patient intends to take the medicine too early or too late.

Due to the imminent danger involved in the petroleum operation domain, only well trained workers are allowed to operate in offshore oil process plants. Although their vast experience, human errors may happen during emergency situations as a result of the overwhelmed amount of information generated by a great deal of triggered alarms. Alarm devices have become very cheap leading petroleum equipm...

In this paper we will present an integration of multiagent crossing controllers for measureoriented traffic control. It is the basis for the future multiagent traffic control system which uses measure oriented approach to control traffic. This integrated architecture gives us the possibility to react to the dynamic changes of traffic thanks to the data it can gather with its sensors.

This article examines the improvements provided when multimedia information in traditional SCADAS are included in electric facility management and maintenance. Telecontrol use in the electric sector, with the fundamental objective of providing increased and improved service to the operators who manage these systems, is also described. One of the most important contributions is the use of an age...

A formally specified multi-agent-based model for medicine usage management is presented and formally analysed. The model incorporates an intelligent ambient agent model that has an explicit representation of a dynamic system model to estimate the medicine level in the patient’s body by simulation, and is able to analyse whether the patient intends to take the medicine too early or too late.

The paper contains an overview of the roles played by rules and rule-based systems in distributed and multi-agent systems. These roles include an overview of traditional and newly emerging application areas as well as internal agent architectures and frameworks implementing these architectures.
