The combination of trimesic acid and the tri-dentate linker 1,3,5-tri(4-pyridyl)-2,4,6-triazine leads to the assembly of a bilayer structure, which contains four pyrene molecules per cavity; adjacent tetrameric aggregates within the channels formed by the superimposed layers combine to yield pyrene nano-rods.

The azo-azomethine dyes were prepared via condensation reaction of 2,4-dichloro-6-methoxy-1,3,5-triazine with azo couled 2-(2-mercaptophenylimino)methyl)-4-(aryldiazenyl)phenol. The UV–vis spectra indicated positive solvatochromism in synthesized compound are dependent on the substitution, solvent, pH and temperature. Some compounds exhibited antibacterial, antioxidant activities.

Herein, we report the targeted synthesis and solid state assembly of a novel triazine-based [4+6] organic molecular cage. The tetrahedral cage features a large cavity (∼2070 Å(3)), and after desolvation, the resultant material exhibits a high Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area of 1181 m(2) g(-1) and also features selective adsorption of CO2 over N2.

Unprecedented open ended nitrogen doped carbon nanotubes prepared by direct pyrolysis of [Co(HTTG)(H(2)O)(2)](n) (TTG = N,N',N''-1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyltris-glycine) show among the largest surface area of multiwalled nanotubes and high CO(2)/CH(4) adsorption selectivity which increases with increasing of nitrogen content.

The synthesis of a new penicillin, disodium D-6-[alpha-(1,2,4-triazine-3,5-dione-6-carboxyamido)-4-hydroxyphenylacetamido]penicillanate (BL-P1908), is described. The compound shows superior in vitro activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa compared to carbenicillin and ticarcillin and produces higher intramuscular serum levels in mice than does carbenicillin.
