Lanthanides ions allows for the design of remarkable magnetic compounds with unique magnetic properties. One of their assets is that they can give rise easily to multi-functional materials. Such multi-functionality is found in the collection of papers of this Special Issue with contributions that highlight the unprecedented magnetic properties of lanthanide-based molecules together with chirali...
We present in this study a new and one-step method allowing the preparation of an unprecedented family of stable half-lanthanidocenes. X Ray analysis shows that the isolated compounds all display the same ionic Ln-Mg bimetallic structure consisting of two anionic (Cp)Ln(BH4)3 species and one cationic Mg(THF)6 (Cp = C5Me5, Ln = Nd, 1a, Ln = La, 1b; Cp = C5H5, Ln = Nd, 2a; Cp = C5H2Ph3, Ln = Nd, ...
In the present review, works on classes of chelating extractants for metals, compounds with several amide and carboxyl groups, azomethines, oximes, macrocyclic (crown ethers calixarenes), phenanthroline derivatives, others are systematized. This review focuses efficiency selectivity in recovery metals from industrial wastewater, soil, spent raw materials, separation metal mixtures. As a result ...
Organic solar cells (OSCs) in terms of power conversion efficiency (PCE) and operational lifetime have made remarkable progress during the last decade by improving active layer materials introducing new interlayers. The newly developed wide bandgap organic donor low acceptor molecules covered absorption from visible to near-infrared region. Whereas incident high energy region (UV) is not favor ...
Octyl(phenyl)-N,N-diisobutylcarbamoylmethyl phosphine oxide (CMPO) dissolved in an ionic liquids, 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium hexafluorophosphate, greatly enhances extractability and selectivity of lanthanide cations compared to that dissolved in conventional organic solvents; further, the recovery of lanthanides extracted into ionic liquids can be accomplished using several stripping solution...
Abstract Exploration of upconversion luminescence from lanthanide emitters through energy migration has profound implications for fundamental research and technology development. However, migration-mediated requires stringent experimental conditions, such as high power excitation special migratory ions in the host lattice, imposing selection constraints on emitters. Here we demonstrate photon d...
An improved sample preparation procedure for trace-levels of lanthanides in uranium-bearing samples was developed. The method involves a simple co-precipitation using Fe(III) carrier in ammonium carbonate medium to remove the uranium matrix. The procedure is an effective initial pre-concentration step for the subsequent extraction chromatographic separations. The applicability of the method was...
ID20: a beamline for magnetic and resonant X-ray scattering investigations under extreme conditions.
A new experimental station at ESRF beamline ID20 is presented which allows magnetic and resonant X-ray scattering experiments in the energy range 3-25 keV to be performed under extreme conditions. High magnetic field up to 10 T, high pressure up to 30 kbar combined with low temperatures down to 1.5 K are available and experiments can be performed at the M-edges of actinide elements, L-edges of ...
The two new 3d/4f polyphosphide complexes [(Cp*Fe)(2)P(10){Sm(η(5)-C(5)Me(4)R)(2)}(2)] (Cp* = η(5)-C(5)Me(5); R = Me, nPr) were prepared by reductive dimerization of [Cp*Fe(η(5)-P(5))] with samarocenes. They are the first P(10) bridging 3d/4f metal complexes and the first examples of reductive coupling of polyphosphide complexes by divalent lanthanides.
