LIB（Lithium Ion Battery）はモバイル機器や電気自動車など様々なところで用いられている．LIBの電池性能は，負極上に生成されるSEI（Solid Electrolyte Interphase）被膜に大きく左右される．SEI被膜は初回充電時に，負極上にナノメートルオーダーの厚みで生成されることが知られている．SEI被膜はLIBの充放電に必要不可欠なものであるが，必要以上に厚みが増すと電池性能の低下につながる．このため，LIBのさらなる性能向上には，SEI被膜の構造を解析し，SEI被膜を制御することが重要である．本稿では，ラボ用HAXPES（Hard X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy）であるAg Lα線と従来から使用されているAl Kα線を用いて，LIB負極上に生成されたSEI被膜を分析した事例を紹介する．
