We consider the compressible Vlasov–Poisson–Fokker–Planck–Navier–Stokes system in a three-dimensional bounded domain with nonhomogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. The describes evolution of charged particles ensemble dispersed an isentropic fluid. For adiabatic coefficient γ > 3 / 2 $$ \gamma >3/2 , we establish global existence weak solutions to this arbitrary large initial and data.

We study cross correlations between line intensity and weak lensing maps to search for axion-like particles (ALPs). Radiative decay of eV-mass ALPs can contribute cosmic background emissions at optical infrared wavelengths. Line mapping is a unique means measuring the emission given photon frequency. If constitute abundance dark matter, correlate with large-scale structures probed by gravitatio...

It is noted that the weak pulsar theory predicts very high linear polarization of gamma radiation for the Geminga-like pulsars. In the bridge region, the degree of polarization reaches almost 75%, with an approximately constant position angle. Within the pulses, the position angle changes, and the degree of polarization drops considerably. But even the pulse-integrated emission is expected to b...

The formation of relativistic electron mirror produced via ioniza-tion of thin solid target by ultraintense femtosecond laser pulse is considered with the help of computer simulations. It is shown that the reflection of weak counter-propagating wave from such a mirror can produce the coherent radiation in x-ray and gamma-ray bands. The spectrum of up-conversed radiation is investigated.

If dark matter is made of particles governed by weak-scale physics, they may annihilate or decay to leave observable signatures in high-energy gamma-ray sky. In addition, any charged particles produced by the same process will also give low-frequency photons through successive electromagnetic interactions. Plenty of data from modern astrophysical measurements of various wavelengths, especially ...

We study CP violation in b-baryon decays of $\Xi_b^- \to \Xi^- D$ with $D = D^0, \bar{D}^0$ and $D_i~(i=1,2)$. find that these baryonic decay processes provide an ideal opportunity to measure the weak phase due absence relative strong phase. Explicitly, we relate $\bar{\rho}$ $\bar{\eta}$ CKM elements rate ratios $R_i= \Gamma(\Xi_b^- \Xi^-D_{i} ) / \Gamma( \Xi_b^- \Xi^-D^0 )$ without charge con...

Recent results in parity nonconserving neutron-nucleus scattering show a tendency for the parity nonconserving effects to predominantly have the same sign. Explanations of this phenomenon all require a weak matrix element between single-particle levels in heavy nuclei to be ~100 eV. This paper contains a discussion of this effect and how the same phenomenon will manifest itself in other systems...

Clinical effects of transcranial electrical stimulation with weak currents are remarkable considering the low amplitude of the electric fields acting on the brain. Elucidating the processes by which small currents affect ongoing brain activity is of paramount importance for the rational design of noninvasive electrotherapeutic strategies and to determine the relevance of endogenous fields. We p...

I investigate the use of Pearson’s chi-square statistic, the Maximum Likelihood Ratio statistic for Poisson distributions, and the chi-square-gamma statistic (Mighell 1999, ApJ, 518, 380) for the determination of the goodness-of-fit between theoretical models and low-count Poisson-distributed data. I demonstrate that these statistics should not be used to determine the goodness-of-fit with data...

OBJECTIVE To determine whether interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) and interleukin-4 (IL-4) genes confer susceptibility for the idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIMs). METHODS A large cross-sectional study of UK caucasian adults with polymyositis (PM, n = 101), dermatomyositis (DM, n = 94) and myositis overlapping with a connective tissue disease (myositis/CTD-overlap, n = 70) was completed. 177 ...
