In this short note, we study the existence of weak sharp minima in multicriteria linear programming. It is shown that weak sharp minimality holds for certain residual functions and gap functions.
We illustrate some recent developments of the theory of flows associated to weakly differentiable vector fields, listing the regularity/structural conditions considered so far, extensions to state spaces more general than Euclidean and open problems.
We discuss the properties of strictly typed languages on the one hand and soft typing on the other one and identify disadvantages of these approaches to type checking in the context of powerful type languages. To overcome the problems we develop an approach that combines ideas of both strict and soft typing. This approach is based on the concept of complete typing that is guaranteed to accept e...
The convergence in various topologies of sequences of inner superposition (composition) operators acting between Lebesgue spaces and of their linear combinations is studied. In particular, the sequential density results for the linear span of such operators is proved for the weak, weak continuous and strong operator topologies.
We classify, in a non-trivial amenable collection of functors, all 2-chains up to the relation of having the same 1-shell boundary. In particular, we prove that in a rosy theory, every 1-shell of a Lascar strong type is the boundary of some 2-chain, hence making the 1st homology group trivial. We also show that, unlike in simple theories, in rosy theories there is no upper bound on the minimal ...
This paper shows that more than 80% of the E-Governments in the world are vulnerable to common Web-application attacks such as Cross Site Scripting and SQL injection. Industrialized countries were found to be more vulnerable than under-developed countries (90% vs. 50%). The paper also describes some malicious data mining possibilities on the Norwegian E-Government, and how information can be co...
The Governments Division of the U.S. Census Bureau publishes estimates of many aggregates. To achieve more accurate results with lower cost one goal of sampling is to minimize the number of smaller and non-contributory units in the overall design. Unfortunately, little research has been conducted to determine how to reduce smaller units. In this paper, we propose a numerical procedure based on ...
We provide a simple framework for comparing market allocations with government-regulated allocations. Governments can collect information about individualstypes and enforce transfers across individuals. Markets (without signi cant government intervention) have to rely on transactions that are ex post bene cial for individuals. Consequently, governments achieve better risk sharing and consumpti...
The role of township-owned enterprises in the rapid growth of the Chinese economy during reform is widely acknowledged. Beginning in the mid-1990s, however, these firms began to be privatized. Perhaps the most striking feature of this process is that it has not occurred uniformly across townships. This raises the simple question: When and why do government leaders privatize? Drawing on a unique...
given to the mosaic identity of states around the world, they have experienced different models for good spatial governance. even now, some states, disrespect of existence and non-existence of potential ethnic tensions, are looking ways of good governance of space and multi-ethnic geography. until now, five models including: 1.centralisation, 2.fedralism, 3.consociationalism, 4.decentralisation...
