This paper describes an approximating solution, based on Lagrange interpolation and spline functions, to treat functional integral equations of Fredholm type and Volterra type. This method can be extended to functional differential and integro-differential equations. For showing efficiency of the method we give some numerical examples.

A class of singular integro-differential equations in Lebesgue spaces are studied. There are many applications of the singular integro-differential equations discussed in this paper. An example in modeling the stress distribution of an elastic medium with holes is discussed in the paper. Direct numerical schemes using a collocation method and a mechanical quadrature rule designed for the singul...

Fractional calculus differentiation and integration of arbitrary order is proved to be an important tool in the modelling of dynamical systems associated with phenomena such as fractal and chaos. In fact, this branch of calculus has found its applications in various disciplines of science and engineering such as mechanics, electricity, chemistry, biology, economics, control theory, signal and i...

Infinite horizon backward stochastic Volterra integral equations (BSVIEs for short) are investigated. We prove the existence and uniqueness of adapted M-solution in a weighted $L^2$-space. Furthermore, we extend some important known results finite BSVIEs to infinite setting. provide variation constant formula class linear duality principle between (forward) equation (SVIE an BSVIE As applicatio...

A new class of integro-partial differential equation models is derived for the prediction of granular flow dynamics. These models are obtained using a novel limiting averaging method (inspired by techniques employed in the derivation of infinite-dimensional dynamical systems models) on the Newtonian equations of motion of a many-particle system incorporating widely used inelastic particle-parti...

We compare piecewise linear and polynomial collocation approaches for the numerical solution of a Fredholm integro-differential equations modelling neural networks. Both approaches combine the use of Gaussian quadrature rules on an infinite interval of integration with interpolation to a uniformly distributed grid on a bounded interval. These methods are illustrated by numerical experiments on ...
