We introduce FlexibleSUSY, a Mathematica and C++ package, which generates a fast, precise C++ spectrum generator for any SUSY model specified by the user. The generated code is designed with both speed and modularity in mind, making it easy to adapt and extend with new features. The model is specified by supplying the superpotential, gauge structure and particle content in a SARAH model file; s...

The double ratio (fBs/fBd)/(fDs/fDd) is calculated by QCD sum rules in heavy quark effective theory (HQET), both numerically and analytically. Our expression for the double ratio shows explicitly the dependence on the light quark masses, the heavy quark symmetry breaking and the vacuum condensates. The numerical result favors the double ratio to be a little greater than 1.

We show that the Hidden Local Symmetry Model, supplemented with well-known procedures for breaking flavor SU(3) and nonet symmetry, provides all the information contained in the standard Chiral Perturbation Theory (ChPT) Lagrangian L (0) + L (1). This allows to rely on radiative decays of light mesons (V P γ and P γγ) in order to extract some numerical information of relevance to ChPT: a value ...

We discuss the phase structure of a higher derivative four-fermion model in four dimensions in curved spacetime in frames of the 1 Nc-expansion. First, we evaluate in our model the effective potential of two composite scalars in the linear curvature approximation using a local momentum representation in curved spacetime for the higher-derivative propaga-tor which naturally appears. The symmetry...

A proof of strong cosmic censorship is presented for a class of solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell equations, those with polarized Gowdy symmetry. A key element of the argument is the observation that by means of a suitable choice of variables the central equations in this problem can be written in a form where they are identical to the central equations for general (i.e. non-polarized) vacuum G...

The mean-field theory of a spin glass with a specific form of nearestand next-nearest-neighbor interactions is investigated. Depending on the sign of the interaction matrix chosen we find either the continuous replica symmetry breaking seen in the Sherrington-Kirkpartick model or a one-step solution similar to that found in structural glasses. Our results are confirmed by numerical simulations ...

1 The (λΦ 4) 4 theory on the lattice: effective potential and triviality. We compute numerically the effective potential for the (λΦ 4)4 theory on the lattice. Three different methods were used to determine the critical bare mass for the chosen bare coupling value. Two different methods for obtaining the effective potential were used as a control on the results. We compare our numerical results...

We study the distribution of the time-integrated current in an exactly-solvable toy model of heat conduction, both analytically and numerically. The simplicity of the model allows us to derive the full current large deviation function and the system statistics during a large deviation event. In this way we unveil a relation between system statistics at the end of a large deviation event and for...

Several measures of partisan bias are reviewed for single member districts with two dominant parties. These include variants of the simple bias that considers only deviation of seats from 50% at statewide 50% vote. Also included are equalization of losing votes and equalization of wasted votes, both of which apply directly when the statewide vote is not 50% and which require, not just partisan ...

Lattice data, taken since 1998 near the critical line of a 4D Ising model, have been supporting the large logarithmic rescaling of the scalar condensate predicted in the alternative description of symmetry breaking proposed by Consoli and Stevenson. This conclusion has been challenged in a recent paper by Balog et al. In this paper we respond to the criticism of these authors, recapitulate the ...
